We had a fairly good time on the cruise just some disappointing things. The sewage incident was horrible and we were really inconvenienced by that. We do understand some things are unavoidable but this was just bad. We know several floors below ours were also affected.

Things seemed somewhat like leftovers. The beginning of the meals in the main dining room were fine but if you did not upgrade your meal for an extra $20.00/day the food was mediocre at best. Breakfasts were ok the omelettes being the best dish. Other fast food places were normal not exceptional. From all that others had told me about how great the food was, I was disappointed. This was my first cruise

There were a lot of fun trivia games and family places to hang out and play cards or whatever. The musical entertainment was great. I loved the band with the 3 horns. They played some really good sets.

The stewards were so kind and friendly. Waiters were at our elbows to provide our every wish. Anytime we needed anything we just had to ask.

Common areas were well maintained and the staff did a good job cleaning. Layout was ok just a little difficult for those of us who had trouble walking any distance
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was laid out well and roomy. The towel animals were cute and well done. However we came back to our cabin and the floor was full of sewage yes sewage! We were not allowed to re-enter for four hours and even after that the smell continued for a few days even though special attention had been given it through cleaning. This was both disturbing and unhealthy.
Ship tip
Take a multiple plug powerstrip as there is only one outlet in the room or at least a multiple phone charger.
We did one of the excursions that we thought was going to include a lot of beach time but it didn’t. We were scheduled to see some sights snorkel then Mayan ruins along with rum tasting. Even though it was not what we expected we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Our guide Jesus was great and informative
Although we needed to be out of our room by 8 we didn’t get to go off the ship till close to noon. We met those coming in as we got off. The porter we had though was really good and he helped a lot getting through customs.
Seems you kept a good attitude with the sewer issue. That is upsetting, but it can and has happened. We have had sewer back up a few times, but nothing major. Twice on two different ships, while taking a shower! ... and once a toilet didn't flush. All were fixed in a timely manner. Oh, & sink didn't drain well... I have a weak stomach too. It is tough having to be out of the cabin by 8 and having to wait... for that reason, we book on higher floors or back of ship to get to lido to wait.
