Review summary

This was our second cruise, first time with Carnival.  Our room attendant was not very attentive, the last 3 nights we did not get a turn down in our room so missed out on that personal evening touch (& clean towels).  But the biggest issue was the awful sewer smell that periodically swept across our cabin.  When I inquired I was told that our cabin and the one next to us were known to have this issue so pellets of some sort were put down to alleviate the smell (they did not work well).  Needless to say this was not good and ruined what could have been a very good cruise.  Guest services did not seem too concerned when we told them?

Very good food options to chose from. Loved the deli & pizza, those guys worked very hard.

What I saw was good.

Overall very good. A few grumpy faces in the photo shop and gift shop.

Ship Quality

Nice ship once you figured out how to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

Horrible sewer smell in our cabin during most of the cruise. Told guest services who offered little help. Placing down pellets did not work so we endured the discomfort. We paid for a balcony cabin and felt we did not get our moneys worth.

Did you talk to your cabin stewards about your nightly turndowns that were missed? Was someone in your cabin when they were doing the turndowns on those days? If so, and they were in there when they came back to check the second time, they will skip the room, unless you call for it. If it was an oversight on thier part, you probably should have asked about it after the first missed one, but for sure after the second one.

We are going on the Dream on November 22nd. I'm glad we are booked in a cove balcony cabin near the front of the ship (just in case).

Gary I have seen several complaints on various websites about this matter :/ mainly on the dream ship... I'm in the back part... Wondering if I should request my room moved or take my chances ... Yikes hmmm

blame your fellow guests for probably flushing things they shouldn't have. 17 cruises and NEVER a problem/complaint

We also had problems on the Dream with the sewer backing up into our shower. It happened in the middle of the night and was disgusting! However the problem was addressed and taken care of quickly.

it wasn't our room. It was the back half of the ship,no matter what floor you were on. the aft pool area was terrible.
