Review summary

We have been on several cruises, each one is a little different. However this was the first time we have been on a Dream series boat. Our expectations were high, but sadly we were quite disappointed with the amount of activities available on the boat. This boat, all be it quite beautiful, was  no more active than the smaller boats we have been on. Carnival advertises 3d expierence theaters on board, but that is on the magic not the dream, they also advertise a sky walk, also not on the dream but is on the magic. The food was no better on this boat not even the steak house food. And our room steward was not friendly but quite hateful with us and others on our deck as well. We booked this cruise a year in advance and always book a balcony room because we are both smokers. We find out 30 days before the cruise sets sail that they are taking that privilege away as well. The Jacuzzi was cold not warm at all, the elevators were so slow it was better to take the stairs and half the time one or two of them was out of service. We went with another couple that had never been on a cruise before and because of a poor activities director on board they spent the whole time in their room watching movies because nothing was going on in the boat. They have no intention of taking another cruise. The shows were good, loved the break dancing and the electronic dancers. But would say on a whole this was a very disappointing experience. I will book another cruise but it definatly wont be based on what they say the boat does because most all advertised things are just simply not true.

3 out of 5
nothing different from any other ship we have been on. Exact floor plan on all the ships (they did upgrade the safe)

Ship tip

bring a deck of cards to keep yourself busy when theres nothing to do unless you want to loose all your money in the casino.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Vendors were pushy, Rose Hall is over priced for what it is and there are alot of stairs not a good excursion for older people with walking difficutly. Had a lady sent back to ship because she fell on the stairs. The musician was great and the wood carver out side were the most exciting things there. Jamaica was not that much nicer than what we have here in the states was pretty disapointed in this port.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Stingrays were awesome John and Jason of the Skin Diver were wonderful informative captains. Water was rough that day and would not recomend a slow swimmer for the snorkel part of the Coral Gardens.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Always love Cozumel beautiful place friendly people no need for an excursion get a cab and go
