Review summary
Two frequent cruisers (51 & 43) on the Dream for the first time. The ship is very similiar to other Carnival ships. The only exception is the decor: it's not nearly as Vegas-y and gaudy as some of the other ships. The cruise went off without any technical difficulties. Service was good in all venues. Food was good and varied. We ate dinner in the main dining room every evening, and we also took advantage of the various buffet opitions: pizza, deli, Indian, Mongolian, burgers, Mexican, etc. The shows were entertaining (although the male vocalist was weak). The ports were not that interesting if you didn't book an excursion. Cozumel is mostly shopping; Costa Maya is nothing but a group of shops - there's not really a town; we booked a tour in Belize so we only saw the country side on the way to the Mayan ruins. I would recommend this trip. If you're new to cruising you will enjoy the thrill, if you're an experienced cruiser then it's the perfect time to relax.Ship experiences
