Great cruise, but...

Sail Date: June 25, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

With 4500 fellow cruisers, I expected many more attractions than on smaller Carnival ships. The tiny pools were such a disappointment. We appreciated the amazing staff; our room stewards and dining room waiters were exceptional!

Pros: Terrific staff! Ship was cleaned constantly!

Cons: Ship was too large; long lines; tiny swimming pools

Recommends Carnival Dream? No.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
We've been on Carnival before and were disappointed in the small variety of fresh fruit and overall quality, selection and presentation of the food.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a spacious room with balcony--the only way to cruise!
Service and Staff
Sparky, Wanpen ("One Pen"), Kitty and Chinathip absolutely made the cruise for us! Their warm, friendly personalities were such fun and we enjoyed every encounter with them!
Cozumel, Mexico
Be sure and go beyond the cookie-cutter shops the cruise lines have at their docks. The town (a short cab drive away) is filled with beauty and wonderful shops.
Don't Miss: Find the town square--it's only a block or two away from the main road in town and worth it!
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We didn't get to stop at Costa Maya because of tropical depression; I enjoyed it tremendously on a previous visit.
Don't Miss: Shopping and enjoying the huge pool (with swim up bar)!
Belize City, Belize
Again, the cookie-cutter stores make the different ports of call begin to seem like the same place... If you don't like to tender in to port (ride in a smaller ship), skip Belize.
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Loved Tabyana (spelling?) Beach!
Don't Miss: The beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
