Review summary

Not my best cruise experience - Carnival messed up many times on this cruise. Received $12.26 for the missed port. Very disappointing

Embarkation

1 out of 5
horrible - my sister who traveled all the way from chicago wasn't allowed to embark due to columbia changing the rules about documents required. Carnival notified her on the night of the 8th via email; which was totally different from the Carnival rules. So unfortunately she had to return home - not good

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was way too slow; we generally eat there each day. But because it was so slow we opt for the buffet which was just fine and the food was just as good. Not enough specialty restaurants. Didn't realize until about a month before our cruise that the Italian restaurant wasn't on this ship. This is one of my favorites. Steakhouse is kind of overdone with this venue - the steaks aren't as good as they used to be. Not worth the money - you can order the steak in the main dining room for 1/2 the cost

Onboard Activities

Serenity deck was my favorite spot. The pool area is always too crowded - can never find a seat anywhere so no way to enjoy it at all.

Entertainment

Entertainment was good

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
This must be a training ship - the service staff was horrible. I actually had a server in the casino tell me after taking my drink order and was gone for at least 15 mins - that he had to go on break and wouldn't be able to fulfill my order; but offered me a beer instead. He actually stated he was tired and needed his break....Unreal -never experienced anything like this before; however, we found this type of incompetence throughout the ship. Our dining room server for breakfast couldn't answer one question without referring to the head waiter. I thought this was a little strange - again "training ship"

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
SHIP WAS OK; IT WAS MUCH SMALLER THAN I AM USED TO. SOME OF THE BATHROOMS WERE NOT CLEANED CONSISTENTLY AS NORMAL

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I really enjoyed this cabin - it was very spacious and I like the way they designed the beds which gave more cabin space to move around

Ship tip

SHIP IS OLD AND STAFF NOT UP TO PAR

Liked this port a lot - we did an excursion which turned out to be good but got off to a very rocky start. It was not an excursion by the ship

Disembarkation

Horrible - our ship was delayed getting into port. We didn't get off the ship until 2:40p. there was no organization at all they just wanted to get us off so they could prepare for the next cruise. It was very clear - they sent 10 groups off the ship at the same time. But yet part of our delay was due to too much congestion at the port; so why would you send 10 groups at once??
