Horrible experience. If this had been my first cruise, I don't know that I would ever go on another cruise.
As it is, DH said never again will we go out of Miami port.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
The embarkation process compared to Port Canaveral was quick, but confusing (no clear signs of where to go).
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Steak house was ok.
MDR seemed under staffed (for anytime dining).
The selection on the lido seemed to repeat every other night. The lines at the buffett were awful. Everything was 1 line, plates, salad, food, carving station.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The women's sauna and steam room kept going out. To get to the gym, you had to go through the spa, through the men (or women) locker rooms.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
There was 1 show (with singers and dancers). The cruise director was suprisingly entertaining at the parties.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
Room steward as usual was great, but the staff on the lido seem to be constantly pushing the bar drinks. I have never been on a cruise where we finished eating and the wait staff waited for us to get up to leave before clearing the table.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
A/C dripping everywhere on the ship. This caused mold everwhere on the ship. Standing water in our slow draining sink. Balcony door howling whenevere there was any wind outside.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
The comfort and size was ok. The steward kept it mostly cleaned, but DH noticed dust bunnies in the corners of the desk and cabinet.
I would give this a zero if I could. Ship docked late (medical emergency, so not the cruise ships fault). Calling the numbers to disembark was chaos. Took 4 hours to get off the ship and through the terminal and then had a 4 hour drive home.
Conquest is my favorite ship. Is it the best ship? No but it sounds like maybe cruising might not be for you when you sound upset about delayed debarkation because of emergency and found fault with just about everything.
FYI, if you completely close and lock your balcony door, it won't make any noise. I cruised on Conquest, and although I had basically a good cruise, I had issues, but I still enjoyed the cruise. To me, a less than perfect cruise, ( BTW, there is no such thing as a perfect cruise) is still a good cruise, so I enjoy my cruise and not let a issue ruin it.
I wasn't a fan of Conquest either. However, I did go again this time on Horizon. Much better experience.
Im Royal brat and prefer them over Carnival, but sometimes you go with the better offer.
