Review summary

Muster was a joke. Crammed everyone in hallway for an hour standing due to waiting for 2 people that delayed the whole thing. Only showed you how to put on life vest which took about 2 minutes. Couldn’t hear or see person doing it due to being packed like sardines. Need to work on that! Very frustrating and not good way to start off cruise!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet had too much of same foods, not too good. Restaurant was some better, but longer wait. Could use other choices for eating

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Need more activities for adults and more shopping venues. Should offer movies inside also. Would be more enjoyable.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Just ok. Entertainment in lobby was good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Romiel in Dining Room was awesome! Attentive. funny, hard working! Praise him!!!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Kept pretty clean. Deck chairs needing more attention for cleaning.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Size very small, noisy due to something clicking at night in ceiling. Very thorough and fast when cleaning. Floor was still wet upon arrival with 2 fans blowing to dry it. Did bring us bottle champagne for our troubles. Took several hours to get luggage up to room.

Ship tip

Overall it was good. Few hiccups but everyone was nice and friendly and wanted to make your cruise accommodating.

Ports of call

Royal Caribbean has their muster drills at your assigned muster station (Ours is B15) so you know where to go and what to do. They have the stateroom stewards checking the rooms to make sure no one is staying in there being inconsiderate. They also close all the restaurants, casinos and bars so no one has anyplace to go but to the drill. I applaud Royal Caribbean for their hard core (if you will) approach to the muster drill. They are very serious about their passengers safety.

The same thing happened to us at the Muster Drill. I don’t mind the drill at all but the waiting around 40 minutes extra because of the INCONSIDERATE people who think they’re special and don’t have to go really upsets me. Other than that and not caring much for the shows we loved the Conquest. Dinners in The MDR was absolutely delicious every night and we also had breakfast there. Our cabin was in a great location near an elevator and took us right down to MDR. Our daughter and her family were in the cabin next to us and the cabin steward was able to connect our balconies making one huge balcony. That was wonderful. Also we had cabins above and below us so no noise. Air and plumbing worked great. Ports were fantastic. Out of 10 cruises, the Conquest was a favorite.

The muster drill you described is typical of most ships. Most ships provide a continuous video on tv on embarkation day showing you how to put on the life vest and what to do.

I know that it's quite uncomfortable when this drill is being held but I think I would more uncomfortable if an emergency arrived and I had no idea what to do or where to go.Perhaps with the many suggestions as to how it can be made better the cruise line may consider and make changes! I just want to be safe and when I can no longer endure the drill, cruising days will be over for me !

Many ships have moved muster drills into showrooms which comes with the ship be5ig able to hold you captive to sell you stuff. At least it is more comfortable. Thanks for the review.
