Better than being home and cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
I was highly impressed about the embarkation process. We arrived at about 11:30 with FTTF. Went thru security, checked in the passport picture (Sweet), directed onto ship. Total process took 20 minutes. Went straight to our cabin for our keys! 10 out of 10! Kudos to Carnival.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I was a bit disappointed in the food. It is average at best in most venues. Guys Burgers are ok, but I’m not a huge burger fan. The Old Fashion BBQ was ok. Dining room was a bit better and the buffet was really inedible in my opinion. Also, I’m not a huge fan of buffets as a general statement, but usually go for breakfast a couple times during cruising. I had to order room service for a continental breakfast because going to the buffet was not an option. Even the oatmeal was cold.
Steakhouse
5 out of 5
The exception to my average meals was The Point Steakhouse. It was my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint at all. Every course was impeccable. At home I would pay twice as much per person and not get the level of satisfaction. The Steakhouse is definitely a gem on this ship.
Onboard Activities

Entertainment
4 out of 5
We were very impressed with the shows. They weren’t Broadway caliber but they have excellent entertainers. They sing, dance and kept us coming back.
Service and Staff

Loved out room steward Ketut. Kept us in ice and clean towels but when we were unable to leave at the time he wanted to clean the room, he was understanding and came back later.

Cabin / Stateroom

Roomier than NCL. Not a big fan of the shower curtains for the shower but used the hack and clipped towel clips on the bottom and it never attacked us. Room was clean and we found the storage more than adequate.
Ship tip
Go to the Serenity area early on a sea day. Take advantage of the sea day brunch. The made to order omelet line at the buffet was always greater than 10 minute wait.
