Not so wonderful cruise. Not my typical Carnival cruise. Didn't live up to the expectations I've experienced with previous Carnival cruises. I was very disappointed.

It went well.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Carnival is known for having awesome buffets...this one, on the Conquest, was LACKING everything! I was very, very disappointed. The main dining room was great. The staff was outstanding.

Onboard Activities

This was a boring 7 days!

Entertainment

Caviar (steel pan performer was the highlight), DJ Rio was ok, but everything else could have used some enthusiasm! Not your typical Carnival Cruise.

Ship Quality

My aunt took a VERY hard fall on a puddle of standing water that was previously reported, but never attended to. This incident could have been avoided. The ship is old and in desperate need of a facelift. The panel in the elevators was worn and chipping very bad. In some areas of the ship, there was a lingering moldy/mildewlike smell.

Cabin / Stateroom

The AC was INOP! I called maintenance

Ship tip

Need to update a LOT of things on this ship!

Not very accommodating to handicapped guests. Quite frustrating.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Not very accommodating to handicapped guests. Quite frustrating. No way to get my aunt and her electric scooter on the bus. We ended up leaving her chair and carrying her around the different stops.

Disembarkation

Not very accommodating for handicapped guests... it was terrible getting around with my aunt.

I was on this cruise. And it was AWESOME. Not to be rude but if you know you need assistance you really need to do prior research. Somethings are beyond Carnivals control especially when getting off in port. Especially some place like PR. Now why you couldn’t getting off or had difficulty I don’t understand because we walk up a ramp, which means with scooter or wheelchair there should be no issue and there are no stairs when you get out. And this was at all ports.

We just finished our 70th cruise with carnival . I agree that the buffet has gone down hill on all the ships . Also, there are a lot less employees. To help in all areas . Even the dinning rooms take forever to get served and get out .

We've been on the Carnival Conquest 5 times and would go again tomorrow. It's our favorite ship. 7 boring days? If anyone is bored for 7 days on any cruise ship, its their own fault

First of all, I think this is a fake review. We were on the Conquest in March. The ship is older but very well kept. It’s really pretty especially deck 5, the Sunflower Atrium. Loved our cabin with lights running along the whole top and the outside hallway with lights running a long bottom. Food in MDR was delicious. Loved Guys burgers, The Deli and pizza place. Didn’t care for the buffet but we don’t like buffets anyway. You didn’t like any of the ports either. Evidently you didn’t do any research. If you are having someone with a scooter of course you should be seeing if it can be used at the ports. As far as getting hold of the cruise line you either call them or e-mail.They do not read shipmate. Your post sounds so fake!!!!
