Of all of our Carnival cruises this one would rate in about the middle. We've had some better and some not as good. The biggest disappointment was the atmosphere in the evenings with the extremely low key music and entertainment (other than the stage show). This may not be an issue with some cruisers, but it was with us, as we never got in that really good partying mood. But, it was still fun with some good ports, and overall good service.
Embarkation

Boarding procedure was flawless and fast
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room food is definitely better than the buffet, but the service is slower, especially if your at a larger table with other guests. My main complaint has always been the tiny portions they give you. Its almost like for a young child. You have to always ask for more. The food was good, but not great as always. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. We eat at the buffet quite often and the selection was not always very good. And, it seemed like the food was never very hot, especially for breakfast, eggs/meats. The Steakhouse had the best filet mignon of any steakhouse on Carnival ships that we've been on. And, the Guy's Burgers, great as usual!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We don't participate in many activities any more other than an occasional time in the pool or hot tubs. Very crowded as they usually are.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The stage show was very good, but I always felt they should be a little longer. The biggest disappointment was the live music. Carnival's reputation has always been "Fun Ships" but the music was boring!! I have no problem with violin music or "one man" bands playing low tempo songs, but when your'e constantly subjected to them every night during the prime hours (especially in the casino) it doesn't make for a very festive mood. The one performer ("R" rated in the Comedy Club was a bit to raunchy for my taste. Not necessary
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The majority of the staff was excellent and were had a very good room steward (Ralph) on the Empress deck.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is showing its age, but overall very clean. The layout and decor is dated, but obviously being changed with the newest offerings from Carnival.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
We always have a balcony and are pleased with them. The only complaint is the usual water backing up in the shower.
Ship tip
The Conquest is still a good ship for one of the older ones in the fleet.
I agree with what was said about the music and stage shows . We just did our 70 th cruise with carnival. And the music is boring , the stage shows are old , it used to be nice with bands in the casino where you could dance . Now you can't even understand the language . If you want to relax by the pool in the early morning and enjoy coffee you can't , because of the HEAD banging music being played .
We’ve been on 9 cruises and the Conquest was one of our favorites. The ship is older but very well kept and very pretty, especially deck 5, the Sunflower Atrium. We had breakfast and dinner in the MDR. Breakfast very good and dinner fabulous. Food always hot and delicious. Flatiron steak ordered every night from one or more in our party of six and always delicious and a perfect medium rare. We weren’t crazy about any games or shows we saw but we loved all the ports. Our cabin was excellent 7401 and daughter and her family had cabin next to us 7397. Cabin steward was able to connect our balconies so we had one huge balcony. Plumbing and air worked great in both rooms. Just loved the ship. Would definitely go on the Conquest again.
