Review summary

From the moment we boarded, we had problems with the staff.  No one knew anything ("hi, which way is our room?"  "ummmm, it might be to the right?  Could be to the left though, not sure") - they didnt know where our room was, and a second staffer actually asked what deck it was on, while looking at our key.  Keep in mind that it SAYS THE DECK ON THE KEY.

Dining staff was - with one exception - VERY slow, and got peoples orders wrong repeatedly (people at the next table had to wait 3x for their correct meal).

Guest services is a joke.  They are all rude, smug, and VERY condescending.  The only apology was when I said I was disappointed with the lack of knowledge on the crew's part.  I was told "Im sorry you feel that way.  i can assure you they know their stuff though".  No, I can assure you, they dont... they dont know the answers to basic questions.

The cruise left about 3 hours late, the only reason given was that "1 indivual is having an issue" - not sure what that means, but ok.  Shore excursions team booked us for an excursion with a completely different name, then tried blaming it on "your pronunciation of that word was weird - the word in question was 'secret', which apparently she likes to pronounce "secrete".  Also, not really the choice of words to use towards a customer.

Anyhow, horrible anniversary because of the crew.  We wont be taking a cruise via Carnival again.  HOWEVER, Our Steward (Hiro, I believe) and his crew were amazing - always friendly and helpful

The room number IS NOT on the key - neither is the deck number. You booked the cabin, you should know what deck its on. Perhaps that's why they were unable to help you find YOUR cabin.

We have just booked our "25" cruise with Carnival on the Conquest. We have been in all the cruise lines and keep going back to, Carnival!!

Are you complaining that the crew didn't know where your room was on an app that has a map to show you where the rooms are?!

Such a great experience as any other carnival cruise. We have sailed many times on several of their ships. NEVER a bad experience. Just disembarked the Conquest this morning. Had a wonderful time on board and crew was pleasant, helpful, and they did know where to direct their guests... If you say your card had the deck number on it, how can you get lost? Rooms are broken down by deck and odd/even

Rendi2 and butch123. We agree with you totally. Our experience on the conquist last October was great.maby they think everything is supposed to be changed to them on a silver platter. We just don't know how you can go on a cruise and be so negative about everything. Sounds like mr. And Mrs rich bitch.

So true!!! Watch the Disney movie Wall-e it mirrors the dilemma of helpless lazy Americans who cannot lift a finger to help themselves.

What a bunch of baloney. I guess this person has never been to a hotel, looked for a street address, read a map, looked at a sign, or anything. Helpless and hopeless. Maybe Carnival should issue GPS's to everyone so they don't get lost. Wow...just wow.

Continued.: always correct and wait staff always kept drinks, bread, and water picture refilled. Cabin Stewart was excellent. Went to guest services a couple times for small issues with some carnival gift cards I received as Christmas presents and needed them added to my sign and sail account. They were pleasant and helpful. Took care of issue right away. One of my best cruises

I was on this cruise. We did leave late and was told because a passage had a slight medical issue as we stood on our balcony and watched a passenger being arrested and the other being escorted out of cruise terminal after they went through her suitcases. Other then that cruise was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Ship was in great shape. Dinner was excellent, food was served pretty quickly

Your Sail and Sign card = your cabin key = does NOT have your cabin number on it for security reasons. the agent who checks you in should tell you that.

...why not check the deck maps on the Carnival website beforehand? Then you know exactly where to go.

Been on it twice going back, enough said!

Well it sounds like you were not going to be happy with whatever your choice of vacation destination. Carnival is a more laid back atmosphere. I might suggest that you spend a few more dollars and try Princess or Royal Caribbean. Holland America also offers an excellent cruise experience. I prefer Carnival my self!!! Good luck!!!

I can vouch for some of these things. In reading reviews over the past year since we were on this ship, I see comments on this ship leaving late (ours did too by 2 hours), smelling of sewage in different areas (we noticed that in the theater our first night) and slow dining room service - ours was too. We had some positives on the cruise and still had a good time. I just wouldnt book this cruise ship again.

Seriously, you couldn't read the signs yourself to find your own room? Have you ever been in a hotel? I would have responded to you the same way the crew did! SORRY YOU FEEL THIS WAY!

Xena22    8 years ago

Room keys dont have room numbers on them for security reasons but it's on everything else there are signs and maps everywhere so you can figure it out on your own very easily. Cruising is what you make of it you can't please everyone and if you let that ruin your entire vacation that sucks for you.

bradpeugh    8 years ago

Your key also has your ROOM NUMBER on it !! Ya just can't please some people. Ridiculous post.

It's funny because I read comments from people on the same cruise which have awesome reviews.

I believe that you don't have cruise mindset. All inclusive would probably be more to your liking.
