Relaxing 8 days in the sun by heavenlydm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This is one of Carnival's better ships. There were no bad smells or leaky decks and everything in the cabins was fine. The neutral colors make for a pleasant experience. We spent equal time on deck and in activities. There were plenty of lounging choices including the serenity deck. The Motown show was very good and the first two comedians were very good. We enjoyed Aruba and Curacao a lot, Grand Turk was okay and we don't anticipate returning to the Dominican Republic for safety reasons. We toured at every port and de-embarkation was simple and quick.

Guy's Burger Joint was tasty, the Indian restaurant and Mongolian Wok were both tasty. The food in the main dining room was hit or miss, but generally okay. You can always find something good to eat on a Carnival ship.

Our room stewards were excellent and very responsive to our needs. The weakest area of service was in the dining room; the Maitre'd wasn't great and we had to relocate twice in the blush dining room before getting the best wait staff.

I reccomend this boat and itinerary with the exception of the Dominican Republic. There was an attempted robbery on our open-air tour bus as we passed the downtown area heading back to the boat. This happened after touring the countryside even though we had an armed security escort. Carnival was nice enough to give us a refund for the tour.

Pool Buffet oipinion by bjorged

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I liked the cruise for the entertainment and multiple activities available.

I did not like the cruise buffet, and reported it to staff, the room temperature (not cool or cold) salad condiments, salad vegetables and fresh fruit as well. .  This was never rectified and I had no  type of fruit or salad thru total cruise.  I emphasized what a health risk this issue was but the issue was never corrected.  Deb Bjorge

Nice trip by loves2sing2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I'd start by saying the service from housekeeping to the waitresses were all exceptional , the food

was great, and the ship is very clean. The downside to this cruise was the entertainment.  The main

evening shows were sub par and only one of the comedians was worth seeing.    On other cruises, we've enjoyed all the shows and entertainment, but this ship didn't have the same quality.  They also seemed to promote extremely loud music at poolside.  Not all people are interested in deafening levels of music all afternoon.  It certainly wasn't relaxing.

Very nice cruise by aismarar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a very nice time on our cruise. The entertainment was great, lots to do. The shows were good, the comedy was even better. I was not a fan of the music the dj put (hip pop all the time) but for those who like it, they'll enjoy. There were  lots of places for eating but they closed fairly early. The breakfast buffet was lacking in choices. Dinner buffet ended at 9:30 so if you wanted anything after that it had to be pizza or room service. We usually ate at the dining room for dinner. The food there had good flavors and variety. The one thing I miss the most from my cruise is Guy's Burgers. Those were sooo good. Good quality meat, juicy and flavorful even without all the amazing toppings they had. It opens at noon and closes at 6pm. So no late night burgers. The biggest complaint I have is the beds and pillows. The bed was so hard my husband and I could not sleep more than 6 hrs. at a time. The pillows were lumpy and uneven.

One positive about the cabin is the shower, it was a bit bigger than on other cruises. The ports were beautiful. In Aruba if you have young children ask to be taken to Palm Beach, (were the police station is) The water is a lot calmer and clearer than at Eagle beach. All in all we had a great time, can't wait to do it again.

Carnival Breeze Cruise by cooterman1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I had high expectations preceding our cruise since the Breeze is one of the newest and bigger Carnival ships. Upon boarding and entering the main foyer I noticed everything was smaller. This is true throughout the ship. I think they compacted things to make room for more rooms on the ship. This was my 5th Carnival cruise. The food was excellent. I was disappointed they didn't have live music at the main pool as in other cruises. The large screen provides music videos. The entertainment was a disappointment. A highlight was a sunset cruise in Curacao that we booked online. I would recommend anybody to check it out. I enjoyed the cruise overall but not as much as some of the other cruises I have been on.

Fun times by corso1001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My partner and myself had a great time aboard the Carnival Breeze. The crew was excellent and extremely generous in every way possible. We highly recommend all friends and family to travel with Carnival. We couldn't have asked for a better or more fun vacation. The only thing we didn't like was that some or all activities closed at a certain time. We believed that the pools and hot tubs should have been open 24/7.

Breeze Review by cberry

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise was a very enjoyable experience. There were only a few things that I did not like about the cruise. Compared to all my other cruises (even ones where we would have to change ports and such due to hurricanes and terrible weather) this was a very rough ride. We only had a thunderstorm one night and that was while we were in port. The waters didn't look to be rough and there were no tropical storms or anything of the sort that would have caused such a rough ride. Discussion that I heard amongst some passengers was that you just felt more of the movement because the ship is so big. I don't know how accurate that is, but I also know that we were going pretty fast a good bit of the time as well. I never got sick, though did feel a little yucky one of our last days at sea because the movement, but the movement was definitely rougher than I have ever experienced before.

As with all of the other Carnival cruises that I have been on, the staff was great! Everyone was friendly and helpful when needed. However, I did notice that compared to my other cruise experiences the staff was soo busy and they were doing so much there wasn't any of the very personable service that I am used to on Carnival. I saw 2 ladies that were cleaning rooms on our deck one spoke to us a general hello a couple of times, but I never met our stateroom steward, no one ever called us by name, or anything like that. Keep in mind the service and friendliness was still amazing, but I am very used to the crew meeting you and knowing your name and that personable service.

Also, trivia was one of our favorite things to do. I have never been very good at trivia but between me and my sister working together we did pretty well. and Tomo was one of our most favorite crew members that we met! He was very friendly, and ended up with nicknames for most of the people that he came in contact with.

Refreshingly Different by PeepandPenguin

Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We highly recommend the Breeze, especially if you have been on Carnival's other ships. It is updated nicely, clean, modern, and still caters to their traditional cruisers (gone is the hideous peach cabin!). We loved the rope course, the easier deck plan, new eateries, and enjoyed a fantastic dinner crew and quality food every night. Try the italian restaurant upstairs for lunch when you get tired of the buffet.

-These ports are also good, not ones you get to see every cruise. Grand Turk is very laid back; if you like sitting on a beach all day, this is the port for you (free chairs right off the pier, light shopping too).

-Several reviews we read warned about La Romana, so we booked an excursion and had the time of our lives; we will not stop talking about our mud covered dune buggy experience. It is a must-do here, and we were comfortable booking it with the cruise line because of our safety concerns on this island.

In Curacao, we just shopped, but our friends jumped on a city tour and had a great time. The Floating Bridge was neat to see. Just know that anything you buy here is something that could be bought anywhere in the Caribbean.

Lastly, we do recommend jumping a jeep to see the stunning island of Aruba that just can't be seen from the port. This was one of the most beautiful coastlines we've seen in all our cruises. The port itself has plentiful shopping within walking distance.

MyCruise in Paradise by leepoffaith1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It was great!

I  enjoyed the food very much. I felt like I was having to pay more for things on the ship than usual.  Top bunk was okay.  The price was great. My luggage was damaged when I picked it up at the port, but did not see it until I got to the airport.  I called when I got home and they said I had to report it at the pier.  It was new and should not have been damaged.  We were told I would receive a $25 credit by but did not receive that yet.

We enjoyed the cruise very much and the ship is lovily.....especially the lido deck which is quite different

from the other carnival ships.  The only complaint I  have is that it was always warm on the ship..too warm I thought.  The staff was delightful ( they always are!)  This was our 12th carnival cruise and I highly reccommend them.

First Cruise-Ok not sure we will go again by clwaine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I was not impressed with all of the sales pressure. It seemed like the cruise was focused around consumerism not relaxation. Persistent sales pitching was a big minus. Grand Turk was not a great stop. I loved Governors Beach. But again the focus was "duty free shopping" even though they don't tell you that there is a cap of $800 of duty free purchases per person. Mandate made by US customs. Spent 4 of the 8 days on the ship. We were digging deep to find entertainment on the ship for four days. Stops on shore were brief and left more shore time to be desired. Good if you are looking for a good spot to spend more time. Not good for active explorers. Thought this would be a good ship for a family vacation or older people that are less active. Marketing pitches were the biggest turn off. Spend Spend Spend little consumers.... Can I give it two and a half star?

Ship was nice people were friendly.

Best way to spend 8 days by richardpeck83

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a great time on this ship. The islands each had a different and special flare on its own. When entering the ship we were really amazed at the décor and the politeness of every crew member you passed. The food and the entertainment in the dinning room was outstanding. This was a great improvement from the last couple of months we had spent on RCL as diamond members. This ship had much better quality food and personal, that's more then I can say for RCL. The special touch that someone took the time to make all the towel animals and put them on a100 pool chairs one morning a mouth opening and smile on your face, very clever. We also had the must speedy departure we ever had on a ship it was less then 10 minutes to get off. We would sail again on this ship and other Carnival ships.

Shipshape by TZZZ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Carnival Breeze is a lot of fun.  I liked the mini golf, ropes course, hot tubs, serenity area, seaday brunch, Guy's burgers, pizza, complimentary cucina kitchen (Italian restaurant) for lunch, and seaday BBQ.  The room (back of ship oceanview on floor 1) was very comfortable, quiet, and couldn't have been maintained better.  It was a larger room than I had cruising with Princess and Norwegian.  What wasn't so great was, having cruised earlier this year with Carnival on The Glory, the entertainment shows were the same we had already seen.  The sports bar did not show the MLB National League Divisional Championship games and there was no place to get the scores.  Carnival should be aware of the importance of the MLB postseason to a lot of guests.  Dining room food was good but not great.  Ports, with the exception of the Dominican Republic were great.  There was no embarkation party.  Overall the cruise was good.  Carnival employees are to be commended for working hard, being friendly and providing good service.

All was good except........ by rfinn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Service, food, staff's attitude and entertainment was good.

However, the internet package I purchased was a frustrating waste of money.

Of the 4 hour package I purchased, 3 hours was spent waiting to be connected. So, if you do the math $89/60 minutes = .98 per minute. I needed to be online to complete stock transactions. Unable to do that.......thanks God it did not cost me too much money.

Breeze by PKennettS

Great ship, sleek, minimalist decor -- somewhat difficult to find your way around, though.   Did anytime dining -- service was great and so was the food.  If you happen to get Rossana - her and her team were great.  Very personable and willing to please.  Steakhouse was very good and worth the money -- you won't be able to get the service and food for this price at home.  Try it.   Loved DJ Spike and the cruise director - both were entertaining and great fun.   Missed the personal service on the Lido (buffet) deck that Carnival used to provide and was surprised to be annoyed by smoking -- understand it is a hard habit to break -- but a totally separate area is needed.  Avoid the "adult only" comedy -- unless you're looking for an over abundance of bad language with no comedy and no laughs.   Do expect to spend on the ship -- there are more areas that require additional funds than I remember from previous cruises.   Even so, it was a very good cruise and would do again.  Breeze take me away!
