First cruise with Princess by Carol4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Overall the ship was in good shape, however the beds all sagged in the middle, and by the 3rd day, we both had backaches.

Amazing cruise!! by WandaB2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

This was our first cruise! We were celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary and we were blown away with the care and service and food. Everytime we turned around someone was asking if we needed anything, or if they could help us. Unfortunately my husband (who is a heart patient) fell ill on our 5th night and had to stay in the critical care unit until we departed. He was seriously ill. He was treated with such care and the doctors on call were very knowledgeable along with the nursing staff. I was a little concerned going on a cruise with his health problems in the first place but I won't hesitate in the future. They have an excellent medical staff and did a wonderful job in caring for him and also looked after me. We were impressed with Princess and can't wait until we can take another trip. Thank you Princess, even with our medical emergency we had the trip of a lifetime!!

Relaxing, mellow cruise by CeliaV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We have cruised on three other lines (Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean) and we found the atmosphere on Princess was the most mellow. No constant steel drum bands or frequent announcements about shopping. It was very relaxing.

The overall experience on the Caribbean Princess to New England and Canada was excellent. The departure and arrival experience out of Red Hook, Brooklyn was amazingly easy and well handled by ther terminal and Princess staffs.

Great escape by CindyM17

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Very clean and in good condition, but some public areas were small. We liked having 4 swimming pools and 2 adult-only pools. Especially liked the string quartet that played most nights--the printed schedules were not always accurate, though.

A Wonderful cruise by RuthB5

Sail date: /
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have cruised several times before but this was our first experience with Princess. We loved everything from the expedited embarkation to the beautiful suite. Our location was fantastic close to everything. We chose room service and the specialty restaurants and were impressed by them all. We used the Spa and found them to be really knowledgable. My husband loves the slots and so we were there frequently. The Piazza which is three floors at the center with shops and a cafe offered deserts, sandwiches and coffee almost 24/7. There were pools and hot tubs all over the ship and endless dining choices. Since my husband was recently diagnosed with Diabetes, I was thrilled to see so many sugar free choices. The exterior movie screen with first run movies as well as indoor theatre choices and a DVD p;ayer that allowed you to see movies in your room as well. We were concerned about taking a trip out of New York but our concerns were unfounded. We parked at the Brooklyn terminal and would do so again. Just a tremendously pleasurable experience!

Pretty good, but rough around the edges by JasonP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Generally, a good cruise. We had a group of six. Two 30 somethings and four 18-20 year old's. That's still a pretty young group for a cruise in early June. Generally it was a good trip. I feel that the programming on the cruise is still geared heavily toward the 55+ crowd, but if you jump in and do the goofy stuff it' still fun. The nickle and dime mentality left me with a bit of a bad taste. For example, there is an upscale coffee bar (think Starbucks style) that was added during their recent renovation. My wife ordered a hot chocolate (for $3), and was shocked to see them open a packet and pour in hot water. Seriously? not even steamed milk? Here's the biggest issue for me: they've renovated the wrong stuff on this ship. All of the things you see (think pictures) are clean, and fresh. But all of the stuff you TOUCH, is worn out. The mats on the deck chairs were horribly worn out to the point of being useless. The pillows were awful. I didn't mind the mattresses, but my wife hated them. Keeping our stateroom cool was a big problem. We could barely open our curtains or balcony and keep the room cool enough to sleep. We LOVED the movies outside. Can we get a cruise line that's creative? Seems like all the same goofy stuff (art auction, bingo, etc.)

Princess Cruise by KevinM12

I was disappointed by my fellow passengers. They clearly took the cruise to eat as much as they possible could put in their mouths.

My first cruise by JessicaO1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first cruise with my fiancee. We ended up having some bad weather but had a ton of fun. The staff was friendly and only a phone call away. Really neat feature was "Movies under the Stars" where the pool deck is converted to a movie theater at night. Lots of indoor activities, comedians, dance shows, dance classes, but not a ton of stuff to do on the deck except for sunbathe. Had a few adult pool games and ping pong tournaments but no salt water pool, or rock climbing wall, or batting cages that sort of stuff. Virtual golf is available but it wasn't something we we're interested in. And it was kind of difficult to access unless your really searched because not all of the elevators went to every floor. Overall, I would definitely cruise again it was a ton of fun!
