reveiw by MichaelRoberts

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My fiancee and her family has traveled with Princess many times in the past and spoke very highly of the cruise line. I was shocked by the different things I observed while on board. We observed many employees making out while in uniform and managers scolding and yelling at their employees. As a manager my self, this was very unprofessional. Also, my future father in law slipped and fell in the bathroom and hit his head and when brought to the front desk attention nothing was said or any concerned was expressed. We had 13 people traveling in our party and it was saddened to witness all of these. Also, our excursions ran late which caused us not to see much of the different countries. At one point an announcement was made canceling all water and beach excursions in Cozumel due to the rough sea, however when my fiancee called the front desk to make sure they stated ours wasnt even though it was announced. We barely made it.

Caribbean Princess Western by rtirey1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. The food was excellent and all of our expectations regarding the ship, the service, the cleanliness and entertainment were superb!  Although we didn't make our first scheduled port of Roatan due to a passenger medical emergency, the substituted port was great.

Not the romantic "Love boat experience" as advertized by Xcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everyone said ship is a bit worn, but stateroom was well kept and Balcony cabin roomy and quiet. General condition of ship good. Decoration was dated. Liked the number of pools. (2 good size, 1 smaller adult only. 1 small pool in spa area required a use fee and many Jacuzzis). Dining not so good. Breakfast and lunch at buffet very crowded and hard to find seating for a couple. The 2 Anytime dining options were extremely noisy.  It was hard to carry on a conversation. Too much noise from too many serving stations and overall poor acoustics . The food was excellent, but the noise ruined the whole experience! Went to Crown Grill a perk from travel agent. Food was similar to other dining venues and my steak was not cooked as I requested. Not worth the $60.00 per couple charge, however definitely quieter. Not ready to cruise again soon. Cruise industry must offer Internet service no charge.  With all todays technology there is no reason to charge( hotels don't). It's the 21st century!

Most relaxing week by susiray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Caribbean Princess is showing her age and is, thankfully, scheduled for a refurbish in March.  While I liked the size of the ship in terms of passengers (compared to the larger ones), I felt the bathroom in our stateroom was significantly smaller than I had expected.  The staff on this sailing was superb, from the cabin attendant to everyone in the dining room.  We had a passenger with us who has food allergies and the headwaiter bent over backwards to ensure she could eat and had the galley prepare really magnificent plates given their limitation of ingredients.

The ports we visited were really for those interested in diving and scuba; we visited the port areas and returned to the ship for relaxation.  Fortunately, that was the objective of our group.  There's not much to do when you disembark in the Western Caribbean unless you're into zip lining and water activities.

Caribbean princess - Curacao, Aruba, Bonaire by Enelsoniii

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The best part was the voice of the ocean contest that I participated in. We did shore activities on each island, snorkeling, power snorkeling and scuba. There was a large list of choices if you want to do something else. The food was underwhelming and is the only reason it wasn't a 5 star trip.

Finally, our trip to Aruba!!! by grndmapa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We finally took our long awaited trip to Aruba. We enjoyed it all (mostly). The cabin was much better than I expected....I took meclyzine with me and didn't really need it.   we were in a forward room on level 5 and it was fine. the steward was just as nice as he could be(Rodney). and the waiters were great too. we were in anytime dining so we didn't have the same waiter other than Seksan who was great!! The meat was disappointing but  the rest of the meals were good.We enjoyed our stops of Aruba, Curacao, and Bonaire. We didn't take excursions but walked and took vans which worked out fine...Loved the beach in Aruba the water taxi in Bonaire, and the Synagogue in Curacao.  Would recommend the trip with above being mentioned.  The shellfish was really good, but the meat was not as good. The guidance given by Teria was very helpful.

This Cruise provided a Special Experience for Siblings and Spouses by jsnecken

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise provided a perfect opportunity for a group of family and friends to experience quality time together while exposed to the past and present cultures in three western Caribbean countries.

Note: This 'tip' would not fit in the space provided below for 'share a tip', so it is included here.

Prior to the cruise, one of our group submitted the Princess Cruises form for "Personal Health" via fax from Primary Care Doctor.  It was very disturbing to learn on-board that no personnel in the Medical Center, Captain's Office nor Passenger Services knew about the form or, if needed, how to retrieve the form possibly from the main office of Princess Cruises?  Would you please provide an explanation of how this "Personal Health" reporting system is to function.  Thanks for your response.

8 days at sea by dcalistrat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The cruise was good, as expected for a Princess cruise.

Small improvements may be helpful.

The temperature in at least one of the jacuzzi  should be higher.

When you come out of the elevator you should see a sign indicating odd or even cabin rooms.

A list of available juices should be posted

Disappointed sad I can say run and book by hairslisa4u

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Western

sadly, this was not a special cruise on Princess. I choose this ship 🚢 due to its size, days out @sea, and interinery. Sadly, I was disappointed w/ the ship. It's needs a quick pic me up updating and deep cleaning.

😒The Spa is like your local venue not a really pampering client oriented service spa.

☕️Tea afternoon is not the old elegant relaxing afternoon tea. Serving Lipton and snacks.

👍🏻Enjoy the piano playing around ship.                                                           ?.Games and 70's disco night LAMO.

👍🏻Good shopping nice shop, just enough and what u may need.

🤒Medical service very good and reasonable.

🍔Food sadly disappointing. Don't waist your $29 on speciality restaurants. Not worth it! Foods better quality than diningrm but not worth the extra charge. Nothing that more special. Not aged steaks, decent choose cuts. Portaion sizes were fine.

Buffet is what you except. Ok

🍷Wines just ok

👍🏻.Waitstaff very good in both dining rm & resturants.

🍷Wines just ok  overpriced selection. Extra charge  Wine tasting is wines served in diningrm. Paying extra To  taste wines for sale.

👍🏻The port trip fun!

👎Take cab to the port the transfers are soooo not worth it. You have to look for a person. Figure out where to go. Do asks question. Wait maybe 2 buses. Lug all your own luggage out of the terrain all around the terminal to where you'll line up for bus. Listen to bus driver how hard it is to unload luggage. Tip... carry luggage across street. Line up to give it to ships crew. Tip.

⛴ Balcony  Rms small w/ need of deep cleaning and fleshing update. Daily   maid service was great! it's just she doesn't clean dirty curtains, stained grout, tile's need steam clean carpets-- the wearn tear of ship  makes the whole ship look dingy and dirty.

😪Just really sad this was not what I excepted from Princess

ps . Go for the higher end w/ amenities included. A lot of upcharges so you spend it anayway.  I felt at the end this was expensive for a so,so trip.

Princess charge more and give more ESP quality food.

Great cruise, great food and fun itineraries, good value by EricMiller

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

It was a fun cruise, the food was great. We enjoyed this ship , much better then the new giant ships where you need to reserve for every thing! We were on the Harmony of the Seas in November and the shows were great but food was not good and everything was pain because you needed to reserve way in advance of the cruise! On the this ship you can do things on the fly, just make sure to get to shows at least 1/2 hour before they start if you want a good seat.

Great Cruise new favorite ship. by tonysgs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I liked the caribbean Princess best because its the smallest princess ship i have been on. everything was close by i could use stairs and not have to go 15 floors for something. The service was Princess which is outstanding.  The Food was great. The destinations were also excellent although Bonair is more for divers and snorkeling .

New Years cruise by bporschke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean

The cruise was very nice overall.

But I expected more of a New Years Eve cruise , since we paid so much more for a Holiday cruise" , they really didn't do much for New Years Eve.

You could spend time in the small Piazza with maybe 15 seats,

and stand on the steps or next floors. Which I can't do ,I have to sit when I'm someplace for more than 5 minutes .. When we got out of the restaurant all seats were already taken. You could go to a bar/lounge or the Lido deck.

Most people were on the Lido deck, That's where we ended up, Nothing special ,, not even a little glass of champagne at Midnight, they wanted you to buy a bottle.

That's the first and last holiday cruise we'll ever take.

The food was good, we liked the German buffet.and they offered lobster 3 nights.

Family Christmas Cruise by RosarioCroshie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean

MY HUSBAND AND I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE CRUISE. EXCEPT THE TRAVEL AGENT WE BOOKED WITH MISINFORMED SEVERAL FAMILY MEMBERS ABOUT SOME OF PRINCESS CRUISE REGULATIONS  SO TWO COUPLES WERE VERY UPSET.. WE HAVE CHOSE ANOTHER AGENT FOR OUR NEXT CRUISE THROUGH PRINCES SHE SEEMS VERY INFORMATIVE AND DILIGENT.  UNFORTUNATELY NONE OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS THAT I REFERRED ON THE CHRISTMAS CRUISE WON'T BE JOINING US BECAUSE OF Cruisescom agent Teresa Rechy.  This is the only reason I did not rate 5 stars.. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR HAWAII CRUISE IN OCTOBER.

CHEERS,

ROSARIOHappy

Wonderful Christmas Cruise by mili4325

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Caribbean Princess / Destination: Caribbean

My husband and I truly enjoyed our Christmas cruise. The ports we stopped at where beautiful, the shows on the ship were first rate, the food was great, our balcony room was very nice. I do feel they can improve the tender process when arriving at Princess Cays as it took us 1.5 hours to get on shore. Other than that I didn't have a problem.
