Review summary

I sailed on the Caribbean Princess in late June of this year. We were deceived and lied to from getting on board the ship through the end and afterwards. They were understaffed. We received rude service and guest service did nothing to help with any of our problems. The ship had "technical difficulties" that resorted in AC not fully work on the ship and the ship not being able to travel at regular speed. The pool deck was missing chunks out of the flooring which caused trip hazard. I have Parkinson's and I had to avoid this area of the ship. Missed and reduced port stays because the ship was not capable of sailing fast enough. Which was known for over 2 plus weeks prior to our boarding. Then lied to that we could not port at our last port due to weather, but Carnivals Venezia docked for the whole day at that port. We paid for the Princess Plus and could not get the premium dessert options sometimes during the hours the app said it was available. Princess plus is not worth the money unless you are an alcoholic. If you order any food off the app it would take over 2 hours to be delivered. If it was ever attempted to be delivered. On one of our extra at sea days because we could not port. We were in the same spot for 4hrs after ordering food and it was never delivered. We only successfully had food delivered 2 times of over 12 times ordering. Both times it took over 2hrs to be delivered. I brought these issues and the rude customer service we received while on the ship and after we were off the ship and I still have never had anyone with Princess Cruise Lines take responsibility. I have made over 8 attempts with no success. I would never cruise on Princess again.

Pretty smooth put a little lack luster from what I have been told coming on the ship would be like. Pilots for airlines more fiendly than the ship crew.

2 of the specialty options unavailable do to lack of staffing. Main dining room was great except for one missed reservation. Service gruff when entering buffet demanding to wash hands even if you were just passing through to get to the back of the ship.

Ship Quality

Ship was having power/drive problems from the start of cruise and the cruise line knew about it for over 2 weeks prios to cruise. chunks were missing out of the main pool deck that would cause a trip hazard. the front quarter of the ship if you were out on a deck smelt like rotting sewage.

Size was bigger than I expected. nice layout and kept clean all the time.

Look at reviews and stock value of the cruise line it tells alot about the service you will get.

Dirty, unkept port that has little to offer other than sunnin on the beach. Is not worth the hassel of tendering to the island.

We've saved with Princess 12 times and only had a problem twice, which was sorted out within a couple of hours. If you ordered food and it didn't arrive in a reasonable time, why didn't you go to the buffet ??

Like all reviews it’s one persons opinion. We were on 3 back to back cruises in May and didn’t miss any ports or time at them. Yes we were on the Caribbean Princess. I think your remark regarding the Plus or Premier package as only being worth it is if your an alcoholic is just ignorant. You also mentioned you never had Princess reach out to you when you got home; for what because you didn’t like your cruise.

We stopped cruising with them 10 years ago. Princess and their parent company Carnival are not a good cruise line. Avoid them at all costs. Sorry for your misfortune.
