Review summary

Overall disappointed by lack of activities (i.e, no arts and crafts like napkin folding, etc. I don't know if it was covid based or what, but previous cruises had a lot more activities), I never even saw the cruise director. They definitely seemed very understaffed but the staff that was working did their very best to accommodate everyone as best they could. You just can't make up for lack of staffing. Food service was slow, food was not near as good as normal (my first dining room breakfast was inedible scrambled eggs), lack of entertainment (and low quality of what was there), low quality and options in shops, lack of activities on boat. On the positive side there was the staff and servers who did their best with what they had, and my stateroom being my first interior seemed more spacious then anticipated.

Embarkation

Quick efficient and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good, some nights were better than others. Buffets were not a large variety. It was just decent. Nothing to talk about.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Pool was fine. Really wasn't much else to do.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
First time I walked out of a show, it said comedian and it was a magician that didn't translate to a big stage well. There wasn't any variety of shows or games with passenger participation offered.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
They were very understaffed and food service was slow. Yet, the servers and staff were always amazing, accommodating as much as they could be, and had excellent hospitality attitudes,

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was kept very clean. Layout was fine.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
For an inside room when I am used to a balcony I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort level and space. Steward was excellent.

Ship tip

I wouldn't rate this cruise as a typical Princess cruise as I've been on others that were extremely better in all areas.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Excellent set up, I would definitely go here again and recommend this stop. It was fun and relaxing.

Belize City, Belize

3 out of 5
The Altun Ha tour was great except the tender ride and drive are extremely long. Tour guides are terrific and very informative.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great marketplace to walk around really made it feel like a vacation.

Disembarkation

Super easy

I have cruised on 5 Princess ships since beginning of year. I did not experience any of the issues this cruiser and others are going on about. There will always be an issue here and there, where in some peoples opinions are reasons to say its the worst cruise ever. I enjoyed the food in many different venues on those ships and again, never had these bad food experiences. I do believe its all about perspectives, and I think if some cruisers are looking for something bad or is lacking just to complain. I get the fact people spend a lot of money on their cruise, but to start looking and complaining about everything, only ruins the cruise by their choosing. I watched a video and the person said because there was no chocolate on the pillow, no turn down service, and no scavenger hunt, that it was the worst cruise they have ever been on. Seriously, worst cruise ever because of those trivial complaints.......to me that's sad that they ruined their cruise because of pettiness.

The last time we were on Caribbean Princess was pre Covid, and amazing. In fact we decided to switch from Holland to Princess for our next cruise because of the awesome 2 weeks we had upon Caribbean Princess. If you want the roller skating, rock wall, surfing etc, maybe a larger ship would suit you better. For me, I am so excited to cruise again!!

Sad to hear that Princess still didn’t put effort to have better food quality. I saw another post that indicated the food is brought from a third party now and that Princess new CEO is cutting costs by providing lower quality of food to guests. If all passengers write letters to Princess then they may change their tune. Other lines have no issues with food. Don’t keep putting blame on Covid. It has nothing to do with Covid but poor management from who have lowered the quality of Princess. Maybe when they loose devoted passengers they will change their tune. Their medallion app also needs to be fixed and so many other issues that I will not post here

Thanks for the review. Cruising is not the same as it was prior to Covid.
