Review summary

Good cruise overall liked most of the ports. The Caribbean Princess is not the ship for cold weather sailings hence the name Caribbean and that’s ware this ship belongs. Lots of outdoor spaces and outdoor pools. Has a beautiful spa pool not covered either.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty good but, should have been better since we had downloaded our passport and face photos. The medallion should have arrived in the mail bef we got their but never did.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Did not use the specialty restaurant people at our dining table did said it was ok nothing special. Buffets ok nothing special. Main dining was good. The staff was excellent.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Line dancing and Zumba. One instructor very good the other one look like she was hung over from the night before. No indoor pools weather cold on northern cruises why would they put a warm weather ship in a cold weather location. Very disappointing.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Hard working people. They did not have enough waiters in the buffet area to serve and clean off tables for breakfast and lunch.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship’s layout was weird at best. You could not go from one end of ship to other. The dining rooms .are sort of in the middle so you had to go down and around. All areas clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean and neat. Bathroom was old and dirty in corners and the light switches we’re dirty.

Ship tip

If you like to swim and sit by the pool or watch the outdoor movies use this ship in the Caribbean and hope it doesn’t rain. Don’t use this ship for northern locations.

Ports of call

Quebec City, Quebec

5 out of 5
Loved Quebec. We did an excursion to Montmorency falls. Don’t miss this great tour. Not done by the cruise line. Go into town and buy tickets at the visitor center very inexpensive.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

2 out of 5
Not much to see. No excursion

Halifax, Nova Scotia

3 out of 5
We have done Halifax before with excursion before. This time we spent the time walking around the boardwalk and having drinks and something to eat at the restaurant very nice.

Saint John, New Brunswick

3 out of 5
Did this port before also did things around port area walked a lot.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Loved loved Bar Harbor. Beautiful place no tour needed they have a walking trail that is beautiful along the water. The town was quaint and cute also beautiful. Get off the ship and walk. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Boston, Massachusetts

3 out of 5
Shuttle to market place. It was ok.

Newport, Rhode Island Did not visit port

Unfortunately weather was bad and we would not be able to tender. Ship cancelled this stop.

New York, New York

5 out of 5
Went to the 911 memorial was very beautiful. Don’t take tour from ship get off ship and walk 5 min. Down the port to the ferry it does three stops. And it’s only 2.75 per person each way.

Norfolk, Virginia

2 out of 5
Boring. Some people took tour of the navel ships. It is a navel port.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

Live here so we have been to port everglades many times.

That’s a great cruise, we did it end of September and was already getting chilly.
