Very confusing ship; small rooms for the price; not enough seating in theater or surrounding activity areas; elevators too far apart

Thanks for the review. I have not been on the Caribbean Princess, but have been on several grand class ships. I have not had the confusing problem.

Actually, (and seriously) I seem to have a GPS unit built into my head -- I rarely do not know which side is which, and which is fore and which is aft. I also seem to know which way is north.

I make up for that with forgetting whether my cabin is port or starboard

I've never been on a ship that didn't have these signs on both sides of the elevator and stairway bays. I use them all the time. If I get off an elevator, a quick look at the illustration of the ship tells me if the bow is to my right or left. That's all one needs to know. If you are in the isle way facing the bow and the cabins are on your immediate right, then you are starboard; also the cabin numbers, on most ships, will be odd numbers there.

I guess maybe I have seen them, but never really noticed them -- kind of like the "Exit" signs in buildings.

To the OP, sorry the cruise did not meet your expectations. Generally Princess will have smaller cabins than many other lines, which I will agree is a minus. On the other hand, the theater is about the same as or larger than Carnival (the only other line I can honestly compare it to.) The other public areas seem to be about average in size, but it seems that more Princess passengers would rather be inside than on the pool deck, thereby making the public rooms seem smaller. As far as the 3 deck promenade - I find it to be absolutely mahvelous!

Maybe Princess just isn't what you are looking for -- Perhaps Celebrity may be a better match?

Thank you for posting your review. It is surprising that you did not notice the "you are here" signage but still it's a smaller ship so not too hard to find ones way around. Better luck next voyage!

I have a pic of the sign from when we sailed the Caribbean Princess last year. I'll see if I can post it to my review page and will post back here.....

I don't think I've ever noticed the signs saying port/starboard or fore/aft. Sometimes I take a wrong turn, but you can't get too lost on a ship.

I love her sister ship the Golden Princess.

I have always found that looking for the stairways makes for a better cruise. I really try not to take the elevators unless I really have to. The stairs help keeping the weight and the wait down.

Was this your first cruise?

How could you have missed the port/starboard side signs when you exited the elevators? I have a pic of one of the signs on the Rivera Deck outside of the elevator bank (can't upload). But it does say "Rivera Deck, Deck 14, Starboard Side". It also has a picture of the ship underneath with the "you are here" button! These signs were outside each elevator on each deck.
