Review summary

The first night the ship was 5 hours late and when we finally did get on the boat the restaurants were supposed to stay open until 10 but they closed early so we were not able to eat in a restaurant.  We look forward to a steak at night but the ship did not offer steak like the other cruise lines do.  The food was all inclusive of unusual dishes and included very little of traditional American food.  The exercise area was good and the staff was helpful and friendly.  They had a comedian that was very good and sword swallowing jugglers that were entertaining.  The ship did not stay in port as long as the other cruise lines so time on land was shorter.  The TV offered much more programming that other cruise lines and they also offered movies on the big screen on deck several times a day.  They also offered sport events on the big screen and on TV which other cruise lines do not.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
We felt like the food was heavily European and unusual dishes with very little standard American comfort food being offered. When after getting off the cruise and going to 7-Eleven for gas , viewing the buffet there looked really great, you know that American food was missed that week on the boat.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
They had several things going on during the day many of which I enjoyed. They had lots of movies to choose from and Zumba and sports and entertainment other than the singers and dancers

Entertainment

Children's Programs

We did not have our children on this cruise

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The stewards did their job well but did not offer the folded towels or little amenities like other ships do. The staff in the dining room held the silverware captive until you would sanitize your hands- even if you told them you just washed your hands. I realize that they do not want diseases to spread on ship but I did not appreciate the "handwashing police" They would get quite upset if you did not use the sanitizing gel and refuse to give you silverware. Guest services were helpful and tried to work quickly to wait on long lines by sending someone out into the line to wait on people as well as those working at the desk.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an interior room which was very adequate and comfortable. We do not spend a lot of time in our room when on a cruise. The rooms were very comparative to other cruise lines.

Ship tip

Anytime dining was great. We would not like to go back to the old way of scheduled dining.
