Review summary

This was our first time on Princess. He have sailed on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian in the past. We have heard so many great things about Princess and probably because of this, we had high expectations of this cruise line. This particular cruise had the best ports of call over all of the other cruise lines, and this is why we chose this particular one. The staff seemed "tired" and had no interest in many of the passengers that were on board. Also, the bar staff could not even tell us what the drink of the day was (and this happened more than once). The person who made up our room did a great job in cleaning and keeping everything in stock, but when asked why we didn't get a towel animal in the evenings, he stated that he only does that for children. Although these little things may not seem like a big deal, I expected Princess to go the extra mile and stand out from the rest. Perhaps these are just isolated instances, but we saw and experience so many more minor issues throughout the cruise, but I think you get the idea. Would we cruise on Princess again? Perhaps. For us, the most important issue are the ports of call; second comes the cruise ship itself. The ship itself is clean and roomy, the excursions are fantastic, but expect an older crowd on-board with a staff that may not go "out of their way" for you.

Entertainment

Because of the "older clientele" many activities were seldom visited after 10 pm. Princess did offer some late night programming, but not many people would show. Perhaps because it was during "Spring Break" that late night programs were offered for the younger crowd.

Service and Staff

Expected better service from Princess. After all, they are supposed to be a step-above over Carnival.

Rooms were larger than "usual." We had a balcony room and we noticed that the balcony was a bit more larger than the other cruise lines.

Hiking to the waterfall.
Don't Miss: The waterfall. You must see (and swim) in the pool beneath the waterfall.

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

Beware of small jellyfish in the area. Ask the excursions desk before heading to shore. He went snorkeling and went into a group of jellyfish. Some people got stung more than 50 times (we counted all of the red marks on the skin), while others got stung just a few times. Not a good feeling, especially for paying so much to go snorkeling and really not going snorkeling because we had to get out of the water quickly.. Make sure to check the conditions.

Don't Miss: Any spice tour. Interesting to see where spices come from.

Wow! What fun!!! You must try the "party bus." It will be an experience that you will never forget!!
Don't Miss: Party bus!

Pros: The ports of call.

Cons: The cruise staff on the ship.

Recommends Caribbean Princess? No.
