Overall we really enjoyed this cruises. Our intention was not to go on any excursions and just explore the ports of call and enjoy the scenery. We didn't regret this choice as we found it much more relaxed and loved walking around the ports of call in our own time. We thought the ship was really good with a great layout. Plenty of friendly staff on hand to make it a truly relaxing holiday
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Went very smoothly. There was a quite a large que but it was constantly moving and from joining it and stepping onto the ship took about 20 - 25 minutes
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Drinks seemed to be in line with pub prices. Unfortunately the buffet was disappointing with limited choice and quality not the highest that you would expect and didn't stand up to previous cruises we have been on. This was out first P&O cruise. The choice for hot food seemed to be either a roast dinner or a curry. It did, however, improve a little half way through the cruise.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We didn't do any onboard activities other sit by the pool which we found was very relaxing with staff always on hand to serve drinks etc. Pool area was well maintained. We did see other activities going on when walking around the ship such as dance classes and quizzes.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We saw 3 shows and we really enjoyed all of them
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We found the staff to be plenty in number and always available to provide service. We found them all to be friendly. Our last cruise with a non P&O cruise did not have as many staff and if you wanted a drink you had to either wait a long time or go to the bar and struggle to be served by understaffed bar staff who weren't always the friendliest, probably due to needing more staff.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We thought the ship layout was really good. There was always some where to find a seat, inside and out. I guess the only quirky thing that quite a few people also commented on was that the stairs were either end of the ship and none in the middle that covered all the floors. We found the ship to be very clean and in good order.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a superior deluxe balcony room. It was a really good size with a sofa and a large TV that could be separated from the bedroom by a curtain. I guess this was because the sofa could be pulled out to make a double bed. The room was very quite. We would definitely book this room type again.
Ship tip
If you don't like lifts or just prefer stairs you may want to consider where you select your room considering the stairs are either end of the ship.
A very clean and pleasant port. About a 10 - 12 minute walk into the town. It was Sunday so there were a lot of shops etc closed but saying that there were a number souvenir shops that were open. Nice walk to the church and along the river.
This was the first port where you wake up to spectacular views. The port is quite small and close to the railway station where one of the excursions go from. The port has souvenir shops and places to eat. It was lovely to walkaround and take in the stunning scenery.
This was another port surrounded by spectacular scenery. Not much to do in this port but good to go for a nice walk, chill and take in the stunning scenery.
This was a much bigger built up port and only a couple of minutes walk into the town. Once you got exploring there were cobbled streets and plenty of shops, restaurants etc. Nice to walk around, find somewhere to sit, relax and watch the world go by.
