it is a lovely quiet little place with an amazing train that is 100% accessible even with a large powered wheelchair.

Do the train you can book it yourself at the station loads of spare seats & so much cheaper than Thomson! It's about £43 return each ticket easy to do & very pretty.

Flam railway is a must do. If you are happy to take the risk, tickets may be available on the day and are half the price of P&O excursion. We got on fine.

We LOVED Flam (or Flom as its pronounced!). We didn't see much of it as we went on the 'Norway in a Nutshell' excursion. This was excellent mix of private & public railway, lunch and a return trip by coach with a commentary by a lady who really knew her stuff: very interesting & enjoyable. Lots of amazing scenery.

Flåm is beautiful and although there are a lot of tourists, it doesn't feel as crowded as Geiranger. If visiting Flåm make sure you experience the world-famous Flåm railway for breathtaking views and Ægir Bryggeri to experience the local micro-brewery fare (they have both alcoholic and non-alcoholic offerings). Here at Flåm you'll find slightly better souvenirs than the other cruise ports and there's always the opportunity for a vafler or reindeer/moose burger. Flåm is certainly on my list of places I intend to revisit some time.

We didn't book an excursion by MSC but made a small boot trip with a local company in direction Gudvangen. Amazing nature.
