Review summary

My mother, partner and I all really enjoyed our cruise to the Norweigen Fjords. Scenery was amazing and places visited were lovely. Because of walking disabilities of my mother and partner, we didn't do as much as I would of liked but what we saw was fantastic. The Britannia was a very nice ship, except for the lift problems. Would definitely cruise again but I must say I preferred my cruise on Ventura.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
All good but some meals weren't very hot. Good choice at the buffet, but a bit chaotic at times.

Peninsular Restaurant

4 out of 5

We had most of our evening meals here or at the Meridien. All food choices were good but some meals weren't very hot. Enjoyed the meals and chatting to other cruisers.

Meridian Restaurant

4 out of 5

Had most of our evening meals here or the Pennisular. Food choice was good. Although sometimes the food wasn't very hot. I liked it because the choices were different from what we would normally eat at home. Was also nice chatting to other cruisers too. Hearing their cruise experiences.

Brodie's

5 out of 5

Had a few drinks in here because they sold Doom Bar, which is my partners favourite beer. He thought the prices were reasonable as well.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Cannot rate this section but had to put something.

Serenity Pool & Bar

5 out of 5

Only went here once, weather a bit too chilly! But very quiet and comfortable. I like it that the waiters come to serve you your drinks and all staff were very nice and polite.

Boutique Shopping Alley

3 out of 5

I do find the shopping on board a bit expensive so didn't buy very much.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
What we saw was very good. The Headliners were brilliant.

Atrium

3 out of 5

Nice but not that impressive. I thought the atrium on Ventura was a lot nicer.

The Studio

5 out of 5

We saw a couple of films in here. Comfortable seats, plenty of room. Also good access for people with walking aids.

The Live Lounge

4 out of 5

Saw a couple of shows in the Live Lounge. 'Annie Lennox' and Wade Lloyd both were quite good. It was difficult to get seats though.

The Crow's Nest

5 out of 5

I liked the Crows Nest. Very comfortable, although the pianist playing in there, didn't do much for us!

Headliners Theatre

5 out of 5

Saw a few shows in there. All were very good. Seats comfortable as well.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff very polite, friendly and helpful. Our steward Sanjay sorted any queries or problems very quickly. He was a credit to your crew.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All areas were very clean and maintained very well. Our only real problem, which was a pain, was the lift hardly ever stopped on floor 8 when we called it. It would get to 9 and go back up or straight past. Or get to 7 and go back down. On a few occasions we must have waited more than 10 minutes.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Overall very good. Good size, very comfortable bed, very clean and always made up very well by Sanjay.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England Did not visit port

We went on the 'hop on, hop off' bus tour. It was very expensive for what it was. Port very nice, had a walk around.

Olden, Norway

Bus tour here as well. Although I still think the price was expensive, the tour was very enjoyable. Not really long enough for the amount of money paid. Although the scenery sailing into the port was amazing as it was on the bus trip. Would definitely visit here again.

Alesund, Norway

Port ok. Thought it wasn't very inviting, looked a bit run down. Had a walk around part of the town. But we're told later that if we had gone in the other direction it was nicer.

Bergen, Norway

5 out of 5
Thought Bergen was very nice, even in the rain. We had an organised coach trip from the ship and although we hadnt said, had been given disabled priority, which we very pleased with. (My mother has walking difficulties). The scenery and views from the top of the funicular was absolutely fantastic, even though the heavens opened when we got up there. But in about 20 mins or so the weather cleared enough for us to take some amazing photos. Would definitely visit Bergen again.

Disembarkation

Again very easy and smooth.
