Review summary

Great experience. I would do another cruise but I am not keen on the sea days. Itinerary is important to me.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and efficient, had to wait hours for cases and we could not stay awake as we were exhausted from the journey.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I found the food very good. A good variety, some of the cuts of steak were a little bland. But there was much more I did like. Buffet was mad busy a breakfast but the quality and choice was very good. Most days we did not wait long for a table in MDR and the service was always good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools were small and very busy. Gym was very busy and the cross trainer not very sturdy. A couple of treadmills we’re out of order.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was very good. We saw the flyrights, a couple of tribute acts, the house band and Gareth Gates.

Children's Programs

No children in our party

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Fantastic service all the way through

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was excellent throughout. Ship layout was fine. I would have liked a full promenade around the ship and to be able to see from the front of the ship from outside.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great. Small but I expected that, again balcony was a little small but loved spending a little time out there.

Ship tip

Be prepared to walk. It’s a massive ship and we kept our steps up which was fine for us as we are some of the younger passengers.

Ports of call

Bridgetown, Barbados

Loved Barbados. Did the turtle and shipwreck snorkel through viator which was great value. Locals friendly and Banks beer was great.

Willemstad, Curacao

5 out of 5
Beautiful. Went to the curaçao distillery, $25 taxi there and $1 bus back from the bus stop across the road by Burger King. We went for lunch in downtown Willemstad and did a bit of shopping. Would definitely return.

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

We got the bus to the local beach for $5 return. Had lunch a a beer at a bar local to the port. WiFi did not work but the beer was cold. The sea here was the bluest and clearest anywhere. Loads of fish to see when snorkeling not far from shore.

Kingstown, St. Vincent

4 out of 5
Picked up a taxi tour for $25 per head was supposed to be 2.5 hours but we were out for about 4 hours. Visited a waterfall, a fort, pirates of the Caribbean filing location and the botanical gardens. Driver was great and safe. Did not visit the town but looked run down. Had a great time here.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

3 out of 5
Walked the town a little. Did not see much in terms of excursions, only a water taxi to a beach. Got back on the ship early.

Castries, St. Lucia

4 out of 5
Did the tour with Cosol tours. Was well run and enjoyed it. Free running drinks, breakfast was good and the afternoon bread and cheese was ok. Loved sugar beach, but the mud bath was not as good as one I’ve been to in turkey. Very friendly driver and we had a good day.

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
Beautiful island. Took a taxi tour off the ship to Nelson’s dockyard, Shirley heights, quick stop at the cricket ground and went to the beach. Beach was lovely but the guy they hooked us up with for the beach beds was probably the least friendly of any we met all trip.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Went to see the French side and the airport beach which was packed out. Did not stay long and went back to philipsburg. Was lovely there, great bars and beach. Good value. Best place we visited for jewelry too.

Roseau, Dominica

4 out of 5
Took a taxi tour to waterfall and visited an old fort. Got rained on in the rain forest but that is to be expected. It was better than I had read on here.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Good. I was worried how it would work. We put our cases outside 10pm the night before and we were out at 8am. Spent the day wandering around Bridgetown and visited a few bars and got chatting with the locals. Was soon time to get back.

Looking forward to gym and pool on ship......hope the gym equipment will be all sturdy when we travel. Is the health spa a good experience? Do they do a drinks package? Are the drinks reasonably priced?!?

Sea days on this cruise ship are hard due to the lay out. And the poor activities.
