Review summary

This is my first cruise with P and O and I would not hesitate to do another. So much to do on board and the ports of call were wonderful. It took a while for me to find my way around Britannia but it is a lovely ship and there was always somewhere to go if the hustle and bustle of a busy ship became too much. There were so many excursions to choose from that you could do the same cruise again and find lots of other places to visit.

An amazing variety of food to cater for all tastes. Staff very courteous in all dining areas. Buffet was exceptionally good and staff very quick to clear tables. Meridan restaurant lovely if you wanted waiter service - no problem in getting a table even though we were freedom dining. Unfortunately people insisted on filling their drinking bottles from the water dispenser in the buffet area, despite a notice asking guests not to.

Entertainment

The show team in the theatre were amazing - lots of different shows, very professional. We had a Dusty Springfield tribute act which was super plus a magician and a member of The Hollies. All were first class entertainment. Pulse, the resident group were terrific - what an asset to the Ship.

Service and Staff

I cannot praise the staff too highly. Our room steward was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. All staff were so polite, it was a joy to be on board.

Ship Quality

My only niggle was the fact that the only stairs available were forward and aft, nothing in midships so consequently at certain times of the day there was always a long wait for a lift. The level of cleanliness was excellent. Just a point to note - when returning to the ship from a visit ashore the hand dispensers on the quay were too often empty and there was no one to make sure that when in use guests used them.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was quite a sufficient size wise for our use. Kept very clean throughout. Very nice toiletries left in bathroom which were very welcome. All linen changed on a regular basis and cabin always made up quickly.
