Sister Cruise 2019 by Ladybug19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

For the 7 Day Mediterranean Cruise you are basically using the ship as a hotel if you are doing excursions in ports. There is travel time in to the country (away from the sea/port) which is fine. Just be aware. Our shortest excursion was 5 hours. Be aware when booking excursions that many of them involve a great deal of walking. If you do not want / cannot walk a lot - pick excursions accordingly. Also, note the excursions that are wheelchair / handicap accessible if this is an issue for you or your companions. They have some, but many. I cannot express how beautiful this cruise / ports / excursions were for this trip. The history is simply amazing. If you want to have a lot of activities on the ship for younger guests in your group you may want to choose another ship. The Brilliance is a beautiful ship and was perfect for our cruise (60+ years), but I can see young/younger children being bored. Stay out of the Casino!!!! It is very, very small and the machines are very tight! I did not play anything other than the slots. This was a big disappointment from our previous Royal Caribbean cruises.

Amazing Cruise by Fratt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

The western Mediterranean cruise was amazing. Be prepared for lots of walking but each port allows for you to take public transportation to get to the advertised city. The cruise staff were all helpful with providing information. Every stop was picturesque and wonderful.

Great Itinerary by Mary49

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We picked this cruise because of the itinerary and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I guess we have been spoiled by other treats provided to suite guests. The first day we had a bowl of fruit and six stale cookies. The next day some rice crispy treats. Didn’t eat them. That was it! We are use to coming back to our suite in the afternoon to find a little snack or chocolate covered strawberries. Each day was a disappointment. Nothing. We have even received flowers twice, bottles of champagne and wine. Although we did receive a bottle of wine from the concierge, it was bc he was making up for something.

Amsterdam to Barcelona by oorwull

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Great cruise - lots of stops which were new to us. Onboard entertainment was very good. Food was excellent and we loved the outdoor eating area at the back of the ship. Would definitely recommend sailing on Brilliance - pity the weather wasn't great

Fantastic Itinerary by katj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Great cruise with a great itinerary. The ship is bright and open with wonderful views. The staff and crew are engaging. The food in the specialty restaurants is great, but you'll be fine with the complimentary options also.

The cruise was very interesting and I would recommend it for anyone that can afford it. There's so much history to be discovered. This was my second Baltic cruise.

Smooth sailing by smithjl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We were surprised at how smooth the seas were until the final day. TheNorth Sea lived up to its reputation during the final 24 hours of the cruise, but weather was fantastic the rest of the time. We didn’t need most of the clothes we packed in anticipation of the weather in port. Cold and windy at sea (more in line with what we expected).

Exceeded expectations by cath68

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This cruise far outweighed our expectations. It was one of the best ships that we have been on. The layout of the ship and the entertainment was excellent as was the food and service. The itinerary speaks for itself and was wonderful. Definitely would recommend this trip, cannot go wrong. The weather was great. One morning of rain in Copenhagen and if it rained again, it was at night when we were on the ship.

3Star experience by Ellabreeze

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Royal Caribbean seems to lack a target audience and therefore tries to meet too many agendas. We enjoyed the mixture of nationalities and the itinerary was excellent. The cruise was great value if you don’t drink and don’t take the cruise tours. We had a great 2 day trip in St Petersburg externally organised at half the price.

Terrific Cruise 🚢 by Catsrule

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Overall, it was an excellent cruise. Staff was helpful and plenty of activities going on all day so I was never bored. Thank you RCL for that!!! You make the cruise your own- rest and relax or jump in one activity to another (my preference). Only problem was no listening devices for one excursion and a guide who had the devises not spoke unclearly. Otherwise and fabulous experience.

Baltic cruise May 2019 by Simonds

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We enjoyed our cruise. We had great weather and smooth seas. We went to a lot of museums and walked a lot. Definitely do a tour in Russia and the ones not through RCI are much less expensive. We used Alla tours. The food was so good in the main dining room that we only did 2 specialty restaurants. The entertainment was great as were the enrichment lectures.

Loved the Baltic! by krevans

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

I loved the Baltic states. I hope to go back someday. Just a few minor issues with the cruise itself. Whoever was in charge of the cruise compasses was obviously recycling info from the previous cruise. Weather was waaaayyy wrong and some activities, ports, times were incorrect as well. It was frustrating at times. I also felt like they were VERY pushy about selling their dining experiences and spa treatments. I like the main dining room so I don’t do the specialty restaurants much, but we were approached no less than 20 times while dining or walking around the ship. Same thing with the spa. Maybe not quite as bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall I really enjoyed myself and look forward to cruising again.

Wunderfull trip by setlon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Overall we had a good feeling About this trip, but in St Petersburg the crew make us shy over entering Russia . First can enter the passengers that had book the excursion by the Caraïben en after 10:30 the other passengers can enter Russia. For me was this a very negative experience.
