Wonderful Crossing by retiredsrhoades

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

We really enjoyed Brilliance of the Seas.  She was a smaller ship than Liberty of the Seas that we took last year to Spain, however, we did not miss any of Liberty's features (maybe the flowrider, but that's all).  Entertainment was first rate, and we enjoyed all the food at both the dining room and Windjammer buffet.  The ship's  captain was excellent and went 150 nautical miles out of his way to avoid a storm that would have caused more turbulence.  The customer's comfort always came first.  We enjoyed the lectures on board the ship by Professor of Humanities Emeritus, Glen Dolberg, and attended every one he gave.  We played miniature golf, shuffle board, pool, and ping pong.  We enjoyed taking daily photography classes and using the up to date exercise equipment in the ship's large gym in the front of the ship.  The view looking out at the ocean while exercising was great.  I occasionally spotted flying fish as I gazed out our balcony window.  I can't wait for our next cruise on Royal Caribbean.  I want to become a Diamond!!

Wonderful! by mnewzonee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The whole cruise was wonderfully relaxing. Customer service is absolutely the best with the exception of one experience. One of the service people at the excursion desk did not know her job and directed me to meet the group on our excursion at the theater. Turns out our group was not included in the other excursions and we were supposed to meet at the end of the dock with the tour guide a full hour later than the service person said. She was the only black spot on a wonderful cruise though and I will definitely do this again.

Geat shows and excellent food.  Clean ship. We had an enjoyable time.  We were celebrating a birthday and the dining staff made a special effort to make it fun.  Our weather was exceptional with a very smooth ride. We would definitely  do it again!

my first cruise by ricecindycindy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise. I had alot of fun! I can t believe I waited this long to go on a cruise. The service was very good and I really enjoyed the shows. The 70 s show was so fun! The service was excellent in the staterooms and the rooms were really pretty. There was a lot of food available , I loved the salads in the solarium and the dinners in the dining room were really good. The Windjammer food was alright but it was not as hot as I like . The  pool was really nice but was a little small for so many people on the ship. My only other issue was that I feel they really need to put something on the floors to make them not so slippery after going in the pool,

my first cruise by adinabelanger

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful, the only complaint I had, being that this was my first cruise, was the food.  It was so bland and I never found anything that I loved.  We did the all inclusive food, and didn't pay for any restaurants, but I guess I was expecting amazing seafood and crab legs and I was a little dissappointed.  Also I will never cruise to cozumel again.  Cozumel was also dissapointing.  Dirty and our excursion had the worst snorkling equipment, and our "open Bar" and buffet was the worst I had ever seen.  But again the ship itself was amazing, great shops, beautiful views, loved the pools, but I might try a different port, and might pay for a better restaurant!

Great time! by esmall9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Service, food and entertainment were top notch. Got on and off the ship very fast. Just a very nice time. If I would change one thing, it would be that I would have locks on he wheels of the bed. When put together, they would not stay together and ya got a sort of valley inbetween. The wife sort of got upset with me getting in and out of bed to push them back together again.

Cozumel by sandiquail

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Trip was good.  Not great.  Not enough to do in Cozumel other than beach or shopping.  Got tired of shop owners trying to get a dime out of us.

Onboard the ship, everything was great.  Good food, drinks, service and entertainment.

Awesome Time! by heidimichaels

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on Brillance of the Seas! The excursions to Cozumel and Key West were Super Fun! There is a lot to do both on land and on the beach. The entertainment on the ship was very good.  There was alot to do every night but most things ended by midnight unless you were to go to the dance club or the casino.  I was very surprised how relaxed the dress code had gotten since our cruise two years ago on Royal caribbean.  It was very casual!  Formal night had lots of cocktail dresses and quite a few gowns.  The other evenings were very relaxed.  I  experienced both Chops Grille and Giovanni's Restaurant and I loved them both.  The food was very good and the atmosphere was very nice.  Especially loved the dim lights and candles in Giovanni's. My husband an I had a large balcony room which we enjoyed having breakfast on several mornings.  Also it was very a nice size for two people with decent closet and drawer space.

This was a very luxurious, relaxing, and affordible cruise.  For those of us with busy schedules, the 5 night cruise was perfect.  We were able to fit it into a week without being gone for a whole week.  What a great treat it was !!!

Does not meet other Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships Experience by ruthjoe007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Food was tasteless - the staff was unfriendly  except our Stateroom Steward.

Our experience on Jewel Of The Seas was exceptional your food, entertainment  and staff.

Our experience on Monarch Of The Seas was exceptional your food, entertainment  and staff.

We were highly dissapointed since we have recommended Royal to others in the past.

Could have been better by sumicz

Food was disappointing. Ship is older and needs attention. Was expecting more from RC. Drinks were so strong you almost could not enjoy them. Some would see that as a plus but we did not.

My 2014 Cruise by vyperboatsinc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My first cruise and it was very relaxing and most enjoyable. The ship was beautiful inside and out and was kept very clean. We hope to cruise again in the next coming year. The only negative thing I can say is the room above my stateroom was very noisy and I couldn't sleep.

It doesn't get any better! by rar299

The ship was magnificent, clean and well appointed. The crew was incredible and the attention to detail was impecable.  If you want to experience a vacation which will bring you fond memories for years to come then sail Royal Carribean Cruise Lines.

Our cabin attendant was truly wonderful, our waiters and waitresses were courteous beyond belief. The food and beverages were second to none it was overall a wonderful experience.

A nice cruise by lovestocrusie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First time on a Royal Caribbean ship. I liked it but wasn't blown away. Still, it was a small ship in their fleet. I'm more of a loyal NCL cruiser though (5 and counting so far). But the contrast between the 2 cruise lines is interesting. in the end, it's you the cruiser with personal tastes that will like one line over another. I HATED the pomp and fluf at the dining room with Royal so my wife and I never went there. who eats at 830 pm every night? it's dinner or a show--- choose, 'cause you can't do both. so we went to buffet each night. not as much food as NCL buffet but for me and the wife, who are simple people and not the average spoiled Americans, the choices were more than fine. heck, you can only eat so much no matter how big your eyes are.

One big plus this ship has over other cruise lines is the Solarium on the Brilliance of Seas---and indoor pool with a dome overhead . See, the boat isn't set up well so the wind on outer pool deck is terrible. some higher glass barriers on the sun deck would fix that though. On the NCL Dawn, winds will be over a 100 mph but the pool deck would be fine.

On this cruise we were going to Grand Cayman and it got cancelled 'cause of wind (i know, it was like..seriously?), the tender and stuff didn't want to deal with it i guess. I wasn't that upset 'cause frankly, i wont be picking Royal again unless I'm boxed into a corner with no other options. No compensation was offered by ship either for missing the 1 out of 2 ports of call, such as a 20 buck credit or something. NCL would have done something to apologize and has in the past if getting on later to a port cause of weather. I probably could have complained too and got a credit or something for a future cruise(maybe) but like I said, I won't go out of my way to use Royal again. but i would also recommend them to others if that particular boat is going where you want.

The crew was wonderful, food was fine, ship was clean and nice. the stateroom was great, as was the housekeeper. it was a nice cruise, but not the best. If this had been my first cruise i might not have liked it as much but with a few under my belt I know you gotta roll with whatever happens.

If you get home with a full belly, healthy and safe, it was a good cruise considering some of the alternatives that can happened. (did anyone say Carnival?).

For anyone it's good to try different cruise lines to see which one fits you the best.

Royal wasn't my favorite but I can see why people like them and why they are successful.
