senior spring break cruise by sheilaalten

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We went with a large group of high school seniors for their spring break. Over half the ship were seniors from high school. Very limited activities. After 11:30 Pm there was NOTHING to do on the ship but go to the Casino (Yuck on cigarette smoke) or go to the disco dance which was loaded with the high school kids. That was the most disappointing thing on ship.

Wonderful trip.. Great staff.. Amazing experience! by BrandiRN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a great time on the Brilliance of the Seas. All the staff was amazing especially with children. They treated my 4 year old son like their own and gave him everything he asked for. The food was great even at the snack areas. Can't wait for my next cruise February 17th aboard Majesty of the Seas!

I will never go on a cruise again! I would give 0 stars but it wouldn't let me!!!! by jaimie145

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a nightmare! The ship was dirty! The food was average at best. The entertainment was disappointing. I ended up with the Norovirus and got quarantined! I washed my hands constantly but when everything you touch is dirty or sticky you don't stand a chance! My silverware at the formal dinner was dirty and so was the water glass! I. Could go on but I'm still sick in bed from this miserable trip!!!

2016 Cruise by wheelerroose4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Quick sail to Cozumel and back - fun, fun, fun.

Should have booked a different excursion in Cozumel - it was HOT while we were there...I think it would have been more fun to do the speed boat excursion / or snorkel... we weren't able to snorkel because our tour was on the "rough" water side of the island.

This was my first RC cruise, I was really impressed with the services, the entertainment was out of this world, cruise director Ricky was fabulous. the main dining room food was awesome, the buffet windjammer was ok. the only bad thing was the bed, kinda hard for my taste. Overall was a great.  Love

Perfection by amybaserman

My first cruise and I will be back. What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. My only complaint is that there isn't complimentary wifi. This would have brought it to a five star. It would help with getting info on excursions, ship amenities, and entertainment. It would be great to have an app to simply deal with this.

Good cruise overall by dobr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Cruise was very good.  Carpet in room could use updating. Just abit worn out.   Mattress could also be replaced. Mattress on other cruise ships have been better.  Other than that room was nice. Great location on ship for us.  Food was ok. Windjammer food could be alittle better. Main dinning food was good. Desserts were great.  Overall service was good. Staff very nice.

Overall a good cruise.

The cruise staff was very friendly and accommodating.  The food in the main dining room was excellent and the service was wonderful.  The buffet was also very good and was convenient for varying schedules.  Our stateroom was very clean and our stateroom steward service was exceptional.  Would definitely recommend!!

Brilliance of the Seas: Key West and Cozumel by donnaginn11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a good time on this trip and definitely want to go back to Cozumel.  But we would like to take a larger ship (less rocking would be good) with bigger or more pools (never could get a chair near the pools).  Food was good.  Service and staff were outstanding!

Brilliance of the Seas by cmagill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This has become my favorite ship with RCCL.  I love the Windjammer on this ship.  The cook parallels what is on the restaurant menu that night and adds even more.  You can have dinner and get to the early show without a hassle.  2-2 1/2 hour dinners are getting old for me.  The Windjammer is quite spacious on this ship, more open, round tables, very inviting.  Even has a gluten free section every day.  One evening they made Bananas Foster in the Windjammer, nice touch.

I really love the Concierge Lounge and Diamond Lounge on this ship.  They give you a nice view for your loyalty.  Disappointed in the top tier event.  Bigger deal was made on this same ship back in Dec 2015.  They did not acknowledge we made Diamond Plus on either of these sailings.

The stores on this ship need someone who is a "real shopper" to add merchandise people want.  Example, woman are into leggings and they pack easily, they had none.  I won the thermal day spa pass but I forgot my bathing suit.  They don't sell bathing suits onboard.  Flip flops, cute ones, different ones, you don't see every day would have been a nice touch.  I am a shopper and spent a fortune in Key West but I spent very little on this ship.  RCCL ships don't cater to shoppers.  Their jewelry onboard not so great. They don't seem to be in touch with what shoppers want.

Love the solarium upstairs with pool that has a glass roof.  Very serene.

Interesting this was an Easter cruise and while there were many kids on board this ship handled it beautifully.  Although one soft serve ice cream machine in the Windjammer for the whole ship was surprising.  If you want "real ice cream" you need to go to the dining room, really?  Windjammer closes at 9 PM and then the Park Café opens for a couple of hours.  No other food venues on this ship that I could find.

Loved the new cosmetic doctor on this ship.  Can't recall her name but she's from Mexico, liked her a lot.  Also noticed my last two cruises were on the Brilliance and the cabin stewards were both EXCEPTIONAL.  Lissett Fong and I Made Setiawan.  Also, deserves a special mention the Concierge Rafael Soares.  He goes above and beyond.

Our biggest disappointment is that we signed up night one for the behind the scenes tours, I have never done this.  Never heard a word.  When I inquired I was told nobody signed up so it was canceled.  The people sitting at our table said they signed up as well.  So what happened?  Later I was told they did find my reply but it was unfortunate it stuck to the lid in the box and was never found.  Hmm, so what happened to the rest of the passengers, where did their replies go?  I think someone dropped the ball.

The big surprise, unscheduled, the ship introduced Tenya (SP) the activities director to sing.  She was the best entertainment on the ship.  Who knew?  The entertainment on this ship was just OK.

Great cruise by aarendt1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

we had an excellent time. The weather was great and the ports of call nice. Only mark offs: don't buy the Internet, the arcade is a waste of money for the kids and RC puts $$$$ on credit card hold so need to plan accordingly if you plan to use a debit or credit card.

Thirsty.... by Andrea563

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There were 12 of us that traveled together.  We had a good time.  My family booked balcony rooms and loved them.  Well worth the extra money.  We were very disappointed in the pool.  Our pool at home is bigger than the outdoor pool on the ship.  The food in the Windjammer was good and we preferred to eat there rather then the "formal" dining room .  We were thirsty and had to travel to a different floor just for a drink of water unless we wanted to pay a very high cost to drink the water provided in the mini fridge in our room.  I would like to have had a drink option of just water , tea or lemonade on every floor.  Entertainment was ok but not anything spectacular.  We booked our own excursions and that all went well we did the Trolly Tour in Key West ate at SLoppy Joe's and enjoyed it... in Cozumel we went to Paradise Beach.  The children enjoyed it.  The food and service was good and we enjoyed it.  a lot of seaweed and not what we expected as far as seeing the beautiful water but overall ok.  We did not enjoy the days at sea as there didn't seem to be enough to keep the 50 something's entertained.

We overall had a decent time but will not look to do this again anytime in the very near future

Love the food!! by ryanchambers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Food was awesome to me and my family; just think they should have more choices after the main eating places have closed for the evening. Entertainment was ok, karaoke sessions should be longer than an hour especially for those with second dinner seating. The session was from 9pm-10pm every evening. Overall I think eveyone was somewhat satisfied with this particular cruise.

FIRST CRUISE EXPEREINCE by pcfdchief

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall great time.  We already booked another cruise.  We will be going on a much longer cruise, they are rumored to have less kids and teenagers on board. If you have kids or teenagers there are lots of functions, areas and a teenager pool. Unfortunity no one uses them much.  For adults there are plenty of areas to meet and have good time.  There are lots of place to relax and read a book if you wish to.  We had good time meeting people and talking with others on the cruise.  The boat size was fine for us.  The shows at night we good and entertaining.  We will cruise again.

Nice short cruise experience by jaccla

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Two days at sea with time to chill and explore the ship, plus two beach ports of call where we did some snorkeling and touring. Excellent kids' program on the ship. The specialty restaurants were very good. The ship was in very good shape and very clean; staff was friendly and helpful. Only thing we didn't like was constant emphasis on trying to sell you something. Good thing the ship was big enough to walk away from all that!
