My cruise experience by elliempangborn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

over all the cruise was excellent. Service was great. Our waiter Ciprian and Hafifi Inu. "HAPPY". We're outstanding and couldn't enough for us, what an asset  to RC the only thing I wasn't crazy about was there Bingo. A lot of money to play only ONE game  other than that we had a great time😀

Ship is alittle tired by dsmith21008977

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It is time for a refurbish of this boat. They did change out my lumpy mattress towards the end of the cruise which helped but in general the boat is showing signs of it's age.

The food was just ok. What happened to the steak and lobster on formal night and the parade of the wait staff?

The service in general was good and the staff was friendly. I would never sail on this boat again.

Great crew, nice ship - quality of food needs some work by Cruiser12798664

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Boarding and departing out of Tampa was the quick and orderly.  The room was very nice and the room attendant was great.  The bathroom could have used a better shower curtain. The ship was clean and easy to get around on. The fitness center was clean and well maintained but there was no ability to hear the TV.  Most ships I've been on lately have individual TV's on most of the cardio machines - this one didn't and over half the machines faced away from the windows - boring scenery.  The entertainment was average although we did really enjoy the trio of your ladies  who played the piano and violins.  The waiter Marko and his assistant Daria were exceptional in the dinning room unfortunately the food didn't come close to matching their service.  Limited selections and disappointing quality.  The Windjammer seemed to have better food however the ability to find a place to sit and eat was sometime challenging to say the least.  The staff at the Guest Service counter were very friendly and helpful especially Silvia.

Not thrilled with this cruise by shelb70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our second cruise with Royal Caribbean, and was nothing compared to our first cruise on Enchantment Of The Seas.  Everything on our first cruise was amazing!!  We had high expectations when we booked this cruise upon our last one.  We were extremely disappointed from the start.  Windjammer's food was not good, and selection was bad.  The wait staff hardly came around, and seemed to not be interested in socializing with those onboard.  The entertainment was okay.....and activities throughout ship was terrible.  Lots of down time, and really pushed buying stuff.  We did love our cabin attendant Fno, and our waiter Monica in main dining.  We were extremely disappointed with the fact if you wanted a coke...you had to go to bar and wait in lines.  On our last cruise...there were coke machines throughout the ship.  Many of the staff on Brilliance were not friendly and seemed bothered.  The shore excursion we took to see the Mayan Ruins was rushed, overpriced, and misleading.  We will not do an excursion again.

4 day cruise on Brilliance of the Seas by lpavlak

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

All employees on the ship were TOP NOTCH!  Other than the stateroom bathrooms, especially the shower being very small, our balcony stateroom had plenty of storage/closet space.  Easy to get around on the ship and we never had any trouble finding a place to sun or enjoy a show.

Briallance of the seas by swolfe7520

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very nice itinerary.  A later departure from costa maya would have been nice. Staff was very nice..especially the wait staff. Was expensive for the dates we traveled, leaving new years eve, but it's probably more reasonable at other times

Customer comments by dianasavage

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food was just OK - nothing special.  We were in 9052  but the people next to us 9054 were extremely LOUD at 2:30 am every morning.  We had to call Security on them at least twice.  Scott had to go out on the balance and yell at them one night.  There were 2 people in that room and 2 people in 9056.  Their parents on the other hand were in 9026 and had warned the room stewart of the possible problems.  Royal Carribean did give us a letter indicating 20% of each of us on another cruise but I seriously don't think that was enough.  They have a policy of no children under 16 in hot tub or pool without an adult but no one was every with the children.  Most of the time you couldn't even get into a hot tub because of the kids.

Great New Years Cruise by tesoconnor152

This cruise was great, will certainly look into doing it again. The on-board experience was more than I expected and the shore excursions were equally as good.

Christmas vacation cruise by kswatkoski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Friendliness of the entire staff was noticeable & appreciated on the cruise. Our waiter staff ( McKoy & Erhan) were friendly, funny & served us impeccably. The 2 cruise entertainment directors were funny & outstanding especially with their ad lib and off the cuff comments. Really have to give a shout out to the Ukrainian & Russian staff members ( Very friendly and personable). Getting on & off the ship was quick and easy. No long lines & waiting like other cruise lines.

Okay by itsmillertime

Moderate size ship.  Last day of cruise was choppy.  Service on Royal Caribbean was excellent.  I recommend the beverage package if you enjoy specialty coffees in the morning etc.

The fresh juice selection was lacking.

Don't bother with the 'Cinema' by tjwolfe3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great service by the dining crew, food was good. Would have liked to be able to get something to decent to eat after midnight

Room was kept very clean, great steward.

The 'Cinema' seated about 40, seats were in disrepair, so much that you felt like you would slide out. Also, movie was Bridget Jones Baby, which was rated R. No one was monitoring who was in the room, so anyone under 17 could have easily been exposed to a pretty raunchy film.

Christmas Cruise to Cozumel by mscerbo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Lots to do on this short cruise.  Festive and in the spirit of the Holiday.  Our first time cruising.  Plenty of food and activities.  Nice and relaxing.  Customer Service was first class from most all the staff onboard.  Found out Cruises are not our thing, but if they are yours... I recommend this cruise.  Great for families, and extended families.  We met folks that make this cruise a tradition.

Outstanding Cruise by jswucher

Loved everything about this cruise.  Exceptional staff.  Booked late so I got a great price on a balcony room. Would take the same deal and the same cruise again in a heartbeat.

My Experience by saw07011957

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Dinner was my favorite.   I would like to see better shows on the ship.  Broadway type shows.  I think the drink package is too expensive.  The service on the ship was excellent.

Brilliance by binatrinabo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was everything I expected.  My only suggestion to RC is to re-do the cinema.  EVERYONE in there complained about the seats.  My back went out from sitting in them for the duration of a movie.  The seats are broken, and so uncomfortable.  The movie was great but very painful to watch..

Assistant waiter, Kenger, was the highlight of our dining experience!  She provided a spirit like none other.  She deserves a huge raise!

Fast, fun vacation! by jcole76

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We really enjoyed our cruise vacation.  We went the week before Christmas and the ship was decorated so beautifully for the holidays.  The two days at sea were broken up nicely with our days at Key West and Cozumel.  We had great excursion opportunities and enjoyed both of the ones we choose.  Lots to do and see.  The only suggestion I would make would be to have more eateries that don't require an extra cost.  We really only had 2 options the entire time and it would have been nice to have more variety.

Holiday Cruise by Cruiser2227454

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is nice and well maintained . Food, service all good. Guest services did not follow through on customer service, very disappointed. Cruise director very rude and actually mean. It was really embarrassing to watch and listen how he belittled guest he had no patience for. Really left a bad impression. Over 30 cruises, I have never heard a cruise staff member speak this way to a guest. Joking would be one thing, but this was straight out mean.

wonderful cruise but disappointing dining room by hkymom56

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

cabin service was terrific.  Windjammer had amazing food.  Could not believe how clean the ship was kept.  However, food at dinner in the dining room was mediocre at best.

A little Disappointed after all RC's Boasting about being The Best! by Marinemom2017

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful. Very clean & wonderful staff, just not enough staff! Could never find a waiter in the shows to get drinks, waitstaff was hard to come by even by the pool & solarium. Bartenders were great (Thank you Steve, pool bar), but always had a long line due to only 1 or 2 bars open at a time. Nothing going on onboard. we usually travel with other lines & there is always something going on pool side, shows all day long with multiple chance to catch them if you missed it. NOT with This ship. 1 show, 1 night, no repeats. If you missed it you were out of luck!. Probable will not do RC again unless it's one heck of a deal.
