Saw parts of the world, animals, and nature that I have never seen before. The Panama Canal was a bucket list item fulfilled! Great relaxing time onboard the ship... my first 2 week cruise!

Food and Dining

I didn't realize I had to put in reservations when I had my time dining. It listed 6:15 pm on my sea pass so that is when we went to the dining room. Upon arrival I was informed that everything was full until 8:45 pm for the rest of the cruise. Therefore I ate in the Windjammer the rest of the trip. It was fine. The lines did get really long when germ protocol was enforced mid-way thru the cruise. Some of the guests were less than cordial about this.

great entertainers and stage shows. Enjoyed the pianist/violin duo and some of the other musicians. One of the rock groups was just too loud for the Centrum area.
Children's Programs
Didn't have any children with us.

Ship Quality

Everything was well cleaned. I missed having a place on the 4th or 5th floor to get late nite snacks and drinks that were included in cost of the trip.

I actually spent most of the first afternoon and evening onboard trying to get this room changed. It is located by the Centrum, the stairway, the elevators, and the lounge on that level. The Noise level never dulled. I was offered a room for 2 when we had 3 people. Then I was offered a noisy room under the kitchen/dining room. Finally they upgraded us to a outside room which was on the 3rd level and was fine.
The walking excursion was great... I have never done a walking food tour! We got to see some of the downtown area and government area buildings as well as a park. The port's wildlife sanctuary was fabulous! Loved seeing the parrots, peacocks and flamingos. The one sad part of the number of homeless persons we saw and the amount of trash everywhere.
We got to see the locks and a movie on the history of the locks that was very interesting. We also traveled to Panama City which I am glad I got to see. It was unfortunate that it rained during the walking portion of this tour.
This was my bucket list reason for booking this cruise. I stayed on the ship's deck for the entire day and watched the entire transit thru the locks and Lake Gatun.
The excursion was great. We took a boat ride on the crocodile infested river where we saw many crocodiles and a boa constrictor and a crazy boat driver who seemed to have no fear of the crocodiles! We visited a fresh produce market and got to taste a multitude of things. We learned about agriculture in the area and subsistence living of the locals. We also ate lunch at a local cafeteria that was very good.
I was not impressed ... from as much as I have heard about this place. It was just a tourist trap. We could not get away from the locals trying to continually sell us something. I bought nothing and spent very little time on shore before boarding the boat again.
We walked the streets and was continually accosted by shop owners trying to get us to buy stuff. Did enjoy getting to see the sea lions along the shore!
