It was the little things that RC missed because overall we had a nice time. I bought a balcony room for my daughter, son in law and grandson. Their issue was that the 3rd bed pulled out over their bed not the sofa as seen in videos. As a result, we had our grand son stay in our suite. I also asked for a room fan to be told that had none available. X number of fans should have been put aside for suite owners and if not needed then made available to others. Also, because of my daughter’s problem with her room, we asked for a change or upgrade I was willing to pay for only to be told none were available on a cruise that was 60% filled-really.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Total confusion with added unnecessary duplicate verification stations
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Excellent food and the drinks were top shelf.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Didn’t use some of the activities provided but the pool area could have used more wait staff to get drinks.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The acts were excellent as well as the musicians in the various bars
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
My 11 year old grandson could not find activities that fit his age along with very little information available to assist him.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Best service staff I’ve come across in my history of cruises. Everyone was professional, kind, and efficient.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was very nice. Very good lay out and the bathroom was outstanding. To be a 5 star, they should have had high end amenities for my wife in the bathroom, RC coffee mugs, and updated information because we read in the brochure that the OS has vip pool access, theater vip seating none of which was available.
Did not have an excursion but hired driver to explore. The problem is that all cruise passengers have to endure a mass of Mexican salespeople yelling at them to see their goods. We’ve been to Mexico numerous times but this was the worst.
Here is my problem. I have a hard time walking long distances and called guest services if a trolley or any kind of service was available-they said no. 30 minutes later, I walked down to guest services to be told that yes, there is trolley service right off of deck 2. Went down to deck 2 only to be told there wasn’t any trolley service. Later that day, as we sat in our room, I looked out the balcony and saw trolley drop of passengers. For RC not to have consistent access for people who can’t walk the 1/2 mile dock is inexcusable.
Thanks for the review. It sounds like cruising may not be for you. Most of the issues you mentioned would be minor inconveniences to most people, but seem important to you. A land vacation may fit your needs better.
