Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Review summary

The ship is lovely, but needs some repairs to superficial items. I believe it is going to be in drydock soon and will receive some needed refurbishing.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Waste of time to see Hell and the rum cake store. Did enjoy the turtle farm greatly and the nautilus boat was great. Enjoyed a great fish and chips at the boat dock restaurant. Our bus driver was great, quite knowledgeable and was a native born Caymanian.
Don't Miss: Nautilus for those who don't snorkle or dive.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Have been to Aruba before. Not too exciting. Lots of jewelry stores.

It was the highlight of our cruise. Seeing our ship enter and go through the locks. And then our tour took us to the viewing place at the Gatun Locks at the correct time when The Brilliance of the Seas was returning through the locks. If you do nothing else on this cruise you need to do this
Don't Miss: Being at the Gatun Locks from the shore and observation deck.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

We did something called Bus, train and boat adventure. The bus was ok, the boat was fair, no wild life to speak of and the train was cute, but not worth the time since there is nothing tourist worthy to look at. We went through very poor areas and warehouse zones and were behind tall fences with barbed wire.
Don't Miss: Banana Plantation

Pros: Seeing the Panama Canal and on ship board, being well taken care of, pampered

Cons: too many at sea days
