Review summary

From start to finish the friendliest staff on the seas. Details to cleanliness, food presentation, cabin and open areas is what makes it so special. You never want for anything and feel the luxury thru the service. Love Azamara and highly recommend it to friends. This is not a mega ship experience so while there is tons to do, eat and be entertained with you can still find some peace and quiet too.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were top notch both in service and cuisine. The dining room sit down dinners have attentive service and yummy food. The buffet had many choices and changed constantly. We’re plenty of healthy options as well as rich and decadent choices.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty to keep you entertained while onboard. We spent most of our port days in town though so missed a lot of the daytime activities.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Ahmazing evening is 5 stars and was in a 170 year old operas house. They had the three tenors of Florence with Eric Waugh the painter doing a painting to the music. 5he Whole eveing was special and man, including myself was moved to tears. The ship entertainment ranged from 4-5 stars depending on the act. Although a smaller ship there was more then enough to do.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
LOVE, love, love the staff on Azamara ships. From the captain to the mechanics EVERYONE is friendly, professional, helpful and smiling. Truly they are the best on the seas.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love the boutique style of 650-700 passanger ships. Large enough to have enough to do, small enough for an intimate feel. The staff actually acknowledges you by name in the open areas. Not only the room staff and butler if you are lucky enough to have one. They were always polishing, cleaning and taking extra steps to make sure hygiene was at the highest priority. Purell was available everywhere and when boarding and leaving for the day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved our spacious cabin! We even had a tub in our continental suite and plenty of room to walk around. We were fortunate to enjoy butler service on this cruise with Rafel. What a treat! He did extra touches like having red wine and charcuterie in our cabin after an afternoon out. So we could enjoy while getting ready for an evening out. Our cabin attendants were so sweet and always had a smile when we saw them around. Colors are very zen and the bathroom was large with tub in continental suite with great balcony. 8052 was the room number.

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

Rime on our own. Love this city as it was our 3rd Visit.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We did Pisa on our own easil6 by bus and train. 4 star tourist attraction. Lucca wine tasting thru Azamara was so fun and worth the time and price for the tour. 5 Star

Portofino, Italy

5 out of 5
We did the 3 pearls and it was very good. Saw Portofino, Santa Margarita and Rapello. Portofino is breathtaking and moved me to tears. Pulling into port and opening the drapes to see colored houses, castles and mansions enveloped in greenery was something I’ll never forget.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

5 out of 5
Second visit here and first from entering by sea. It’s much more impressive from an ocean entry. It’s over the top Wealth, decadence, and opulence sprinkled with some history. I don5bthink 5here was a yacht under 100 feet and even saw the Lady Maura docked. I really enjoyed the white night that evening on the ship with the Monte Carlo lights in the background.

Marseille (Provence), France

4 out of 5
We opted for a hop on hop off bus her. Had a great lunch in a “library restaurant” off the main square. However, one would be hard pressed to find it. A bit ritzy and only had locals inside. Excellent service, champagne, foie gras, as well as bouillabaisse. Hidden gem and I'll try to find the name and post.

Sete (Carcassonne), France

4 out of 5
This is a commercial shipping port. Not the kind of charm like the other ports. So we decided to do our own thing and get out of town that day by taking the hour train ride out to Nimes. Definely worth it as Nimes is beautiful with expansive squares, vast open boulevards and charming parks.

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Super city. Stayed 3 nights in the back end of cruise. Gaudi buildings and the Familia Sagrada are highlights. The free walking tour of Gòtic quarter is worth it and a fun way to start our trip. Other cool neighborhoods are El Born for tapas and drinks.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Zero stress. Easy peasy!
