This cruise was pretty much what I expected. There are a few wrinkles to be worked out on the ship like no interactive TV. Everything (booking excursions, checking bills, etc.) must be done in person. You can do all of this 24/7 at guest relations if offices are closed. Also furniture in stateroom was not well arranged which made getting around the cabin difficult. We never sat on the couch! It was too hard to get to.
As always, Azamara was great.

Ship tip
Do not expect a lot in the way of onboard activities. On the other hand, I think you will not spend much time on board!
Wonderful, safe, scenic! It was a joy to simply wander around on our own. Be sure to get out of town center and wander in the back streets. We also took a boat tour, easily available from the harbor.
Again we were on our own. We took the public bus to M'dina and enjoyed a morning and lunch in this lovely old town. Malta is a big and bustling city. If you have to choose between Grand Palace and co-Cathedral, choose the Cathedral!
And again we were on our own. We walked to everything. Our favorite was the catacombs. We also visited the Archaeological Park and Ortigyia, the old city, which is an easy walk from the ship.
We took advantage of ship's excursion, Taormina on your own which gave a bus ride and introduction to the town. We did this because we had an onboard credit so it was actually "free." Otherwise, I would suggest a taxi, which is cheaper and leaves you in charge of your coming and going. This is a tendered port.
We took the tour Positano by motorboat, which I would suggest as both Positano and Amalfi are small and will not occupy a lot of time. Note this is a tendered port.
Because of bad weather we docked in Naples. The ship provided a bus to Sorrento. This would, once again, be a tendered port otherwise. Again, a lovely town but I would say that Taormina, Amalfi and Sorrento are similar in many ways. Lots of scenery, souvenir shops and wonderful food. I wish the itinerary had been a bit more varied.
