Disapointing in many ways ! by MEADOWPOINT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas

The very is beautiful. We love the Solarium and book our room to be just under the same area so ease of elevators is helpful. There is a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch & dinner in the Solarium, BUT IT WAS CLOSED FOR A PRIVATE GROUP! This meant that for any food you had to go to the far end of the ship, then walk all the way to the front !! People were very verbal about their dissatisfaction. Nothing could change that but on the 8th day they finally started to come around with some small sandwiches etc. Helped, but not much. The ship knew a year in advance about the booking, but didn't put them in a ballroom or private conference room - they closed a public cafe just for them while hundreds of people were displaced! NOT ACCEPTABLE EVER! Children were not contained and ran around screaming. The main pools were filled with unruly children, so were the hot tubs. All food was excellent. Service in the main dining room Table 527 early seating was superior! Clemente & his helper were efficient, attentive and always did a superior job going the extra mile for their passengers. I have a peanut allergy & the" Matri de" made sure I was okay with all the food! Our room steward, Harold, was very attentive to our needs & got to know us. Most passengers felt their room stewards were overworked and had too many rooms (25) for lack of staff!! They still did an awesome job! Overall, Royal Caribbean isn't up to par like they were years ago. They lack staff & have trouble getting staff since they do not pay well, overwork the staff by using them for several jobs other than what they were hired to do, lack help for the handicap, keeping children in line in public areas allowing them to use adult areas & the attention to the overall passengers. The Royal Caribbean name use to be one of the top cruise lines for service. Not anymore.

Average+ Cruise to the Caribbean by ming1945

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas

We have traveled on this cruise many times. Ship getting a little tired for us. Need more restaurants. Lobby turned into the sales type flea market. Watches, clothing, jewelry, liquor, etc. for sale almost daily. A bit much. Very few items sundry items were available. Ex: no shaving canned cream.

Wonderful escape from the cold! by Cruiser83566357

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas

We traveled with extended family for a total of 6 staterooms. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy during the day, but we found the evening entertainment to be lacking on this ship. It seems they just stretched a 6 night schedule to fill our 11 nights. The food was fantastic and the indoor pool was a big plus, especially since we had such cool weather to start and end the trip.

New Years Eve at sea is an awesome experience I will remember for all my days. My Mother in law loved it, my wife loved it. We had a great time aboard Anthem. We had a great time off anthem. I wish I had booked a back to back cruise.

Family adventure by Yelsew1962

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Anthem of the Seas

Ahoy there, landlubbers! Gather 'round and let me spin a yarn about the most swashbucklin' family adventure I've ever had – a Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas voyage from Bayonne, setting sail for sun-kissed shores and celebrating a milestone worth of confetti cannons: our daughter's college graduation! From the moment we set foot on Anthem, a behemoth of gleaming steel and endless possibilities, we knew this was no ordinary cruise. It was a floating playground, a shimmering palace of delights where every day brought a new treasure chest full of adventure. We scaled the rock-climbing wall taller than a pirate's mast, braved the heart-stopping drop of Riptide, the tallest waterslide in North America, and emerged giggling like a school of dolphins. Port Canaveral wasn't just a pit stop; it was a gateway to Kennedy Space Center, where we touched the stars and dreamt of cosmic escapades. Back on board, Broadway-worthy shows dazzled under the diamond-dusted night sky, while laughter spilled from the comedy club and the casino pulsed with the thrill of a lucky roll. But the crown jewel of the trip, the siren song of every sun-seeker, was Coco Cay. This wasn't just an island; it was a daydream woven with sugar-sand beaches, turquoise waters that whispered secrets to the shore, and thrill rides that catapulted us into pure joy. We rode the Daredevil's Peak drop slide, a white-knuckle descent that left us breathless and begging for more. Later, we floated in overwater cabanas, feeling like castaways in a paradise painted for two. Nassau, with its pastel-hued houses and infectious Junkanoo beats, felt like stepping into a vibrant postcard. We haggled for souvenirs in the Straw Market, sipped rum cocktails in waterfront bars, and danced the night away under the watchful gaze of a moon as round as a pirate's doubloon. But amidst the whirlwind of activities, the true magic of this cruise bloomed in the quiet moments: family dinners under a canopy of stars, movie nights snuggled under blankets, and whispered stories traded on moonlit balconies. We celebrated our daughter's graduation, not just with a diploma, but with the unbreakable bond forged in shared laughter, salty-hair adventures, and memories that will shimmer brighter than any treasure chest. The Anthem of the Seas wasn't just a ship; it was a canvas where we painted our own masterpiece of togetherness. It was a reminder that the greatest adventures aren't found on maps, but in the hearts of those we hold dear. So, raise a glass (or a Mai Tai!), ye landlubbers, and set sail for your own unforgettable family cruise. Just remember, the real treasure isn't in the ports of call, but in the moments you share along the way.

Relaxing few days by ben2bizzy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Anthem of the Seas

As a senior female cruiser I met many like minded peers but cruise passengers were diverse with lots of young families who were fun to watch and eager to engage me in conversations. One of the things I enjoy about cruising is the feeling of security especially when attending late night events

Nice Week Away by SharandRob

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Anthem of the Seas

Good week away but the seas were a bit rough and it wasn't very sunny at all. The ship was full of kids, I guess because it was in December, and even babies were brought to late night entertainment. I love kids but I felt badly for th elittle ones up so past a proper bedtime, being dragged to shows they had no interest in.
