Review summary

Our cruise started off because of weather by cruising the Hudson River then anchoring by Verrazano Bridge, day 2 was at sea with 26’waves then calming down until there was a medical emergency at the end of the cruise. So we had to go full steam back early. We still stayed on the ship until the next morning. All things considered with the captain having to alter the itinerary it was a nice trip.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was typical cruise food. We didn’t eat at any specialty restaurants. The Windjammer is typical too. Neither are bad just predictable. I certainly did not go hungry.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We played bing once and trivia. I usually watch karaoke but it wasn’t at a convenient time.

Entertainment

We will rock you show is excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
For the most part everyone was great. After reading other reviews I was worried about attitudes. Our wait staff was was super friendly. However the mailer d’ was constantly on our waiter to cater to a table of pinnacle members. This made our table of 8 having to wait for each course, which made us late for shows after dinner. We didn’t want to complain for fear of our waiter getting in trouble. So we chose to eat in the Windjammer a couple of nights so we could see the entertainment. The Windjammer wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Some of the customers were so mean to them and they were still friendly. As for our room attendant, he was nice and we started the cruise by tipping him extra. However I asked him to leave all the towel animals but he wouldn’t.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our room size was nice. This is at the front of the ship with a large window.

Ship tip

If you are sensitive to motion then don’t pick a forward cabin. Plus you hear the anchor dropping and the lines when docking.

Yes we were able to make all ports but not at the intended times. Boston was changed due to weather and the port closing. We didn’t have an excursion so we weren’t effected. Also St John was changed because of the tides. They made all necessary changes to the excursions because we had booked through the ship. Not sure what happens to those that book off ship.

Glad to hear with weather and emergency your cruise was still good. Were you able to make it to all your ports? We did that same cruise a week and half before you. We had one day where it was a little choppy but rest was real smooth.
