Review summary

We weren't impressed with Royal Caribbean cruise line. Not sure we would ever cruise with them again. Fall Foliage cruise - but never saw any fall colors! It was too early for the leaves to turn and too foggy in some ports to see anything! 9 days is too long on this ship.

Embarkation

Pretty smooth and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Average - not great

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pretty good - but the spa was a disappointment - I purchased a 30 minute foot massage, but only got 20 minutes!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Pretty good - but should have had more "oldies" type music for the majority of guests were over 50 It seemed the majority was 80's, 90's and later type.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Pretty good except the Spa

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It wasn't very clean - and didn't seem to get cleaned much during the 9 days. Just the bare minimum.

Ship tip

Too much soliciting for RC products and promotions. Didn't like the automatic 18% gratuity added to EVERYTHING! Tips should be earned and rewarded according to each individual performance.

This is probably a troll, no cruises or pics

And what do you call oldies music, I am over 50 but am quite happy listening to most music, certainly don't want too much easy listening type artists. It is meant to be a family ship after all.

You got to do your research on foliage conditions. It varies year to year. Waiting until mid October gives a much better chance of seeing the bright foliage, but it is never guaranteed.

Maybe the newest and most advanced ship doesn’t have what it takes to make you happy! Might try a bus tour next time.

And isn't that one of the most wonderful things about it. Nothing to do other than sit and watch the sea go by, drinking cocktails. Nothing to do other than enjoying reading a book in the sunshine. Nothing to do other than to wander off and find more great food. Nothing to do other than watch shows or live music or perhaps go for a walk to burn off some of the calories. No shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, bed making etc. No work for 9 days. I wish I was having such a terrible time right now.

(Sorry 9 days)

ghiagal    7 years ago

But but there was nothing to do for 12 days....

The hilarious part is this ship is specifically designed for adverse weather conditions... Is anyone else seeing the irony here?

How about the woman who gave NYC 5 stars. No excursions, nothing. Five stars, why ? Because she can visit her son and daughter-in-law who live in NYC.

It's not about being brutal, it's honesty. They booked a cruise for the week they went, royal Caribbean, Carnival, NCL none of them have control over when leaves change that year or if there will be fog. As for the cruise being to long, again they booked it. Not enough things to do on the ship? Shows, bumper cars, circus school, ice skating, music, hot tubs, pools, dancing, and more.

You guys are brutal! LOL I too can confess that all if my cruises on rcl were awesome!

Jjs134    7 years ago

I guess no one TOLD them to get in there and have fun. 11 cruises. Every one different. Enjoyed every single one of them!!!

Carnival it is foggy inside the ship

debbie22759    7 years ago

If you were on Carnival the fall colors would have been fabulous and the ports less foggy?!!?

I hate when people on cruises complain.

shopaholic6    7 years ago

Seriously????? Was the sea too watery for you too?

ICruise4Bacon    7 years ago

I hate when I'm forced onto a cruise ship against my will like this person evidently was.

Some people are hard to please

askoleern    7 years ago

I guess they all told you. Not Royals fault..

reguenther863    7 years ago

All on point, ridiculous to blame Royal. Every cruise I take on Royal has been 10 or more nights and frankly there aren't long enough. Shame on Royal for turning on the fog...

GIL155    7 years ago

Kinda like not seeing whales in Alaska, or having rain in the Caribbean. Things happen beyond the cruise lines fault or control.

ghiagal    7 years ago

I was thinking the same thing Sarah- damn Royal for not having a remote to control the trees changing- which by the way can start changing in August some years and be completely bare by October 1. So that year you'd be whining there were not any leaves. I'll remember to complain next time it rains in me in the Caribbean- I didn't book a cruise for rain. You booked a 9 day cruise -royal didn't tell you you had to- PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. We've done 14 day trips and would love more time on board. Perhaps cruising isn't for you

Sarahs58    7 years ago

Not sure how Royal Caribbean can be responsible for the weather. As for 9 days being too long we went on a 13 night cruise 2 years ago and enjoyed every minute.
