Review summary

I love the trip because of most of the ports. The ports are some that you don't go to often on a cruise. Seems like the ship went very slow-I think they could have gotten there faster. They also could have skipped San Juan & Martinique because most passengers felt they were a waste of time. The other ports were friendly, great beaches & good shopping! The ship also needs to cater more to the majority of passengers - CHILDREN IN HOT TUBS BY THE POOL - NO! Children have a very large children's pool area & the main pool/ tubs should be for the adults only. I know the Solarium is adults only, but that is indoors. There were so many kiddies in the main pool & hot tubs there was no room for the adults that wanted to use them to swim & relax. Parents think it is cute, but the rest of the people didn't. Adults can't swim in the kiddie pool, so the main pool needs rules & a pool attendant to enforce them. Asking parents to take the kiddies into the kiddie pool politely shouldn't offend anyone if the rules are posted.  Also, the dining format needs addressing. Opening the doors & allowing people to run in & take any table they like is ridiculous!  On the first night, people had to wait in line, check in, and be taken to a table. But, two nights in, all changed. People were lining up earlier & earlier so they decided to open the doors, skip the check in, and allow people to all just go in and pick any table!!!  The rush was dangerous! People need to be given a table number, a time,  & have it for the trip. We had anytime dining - 5:30. People were just coming when they felt like it & going in and sitting down at any table! No way to run dining. The food is delicious and the menus changing every night is a plus !! The food in the buffet is also great, but a couple find it hard to eat at the same time when you need to hold a table & also get food so for dinner it isn't an option most choose, although a lot of people got so disgusted with the dining rooms that they gave up & ate buffet style. Drinks are way over priced !! The shows are good, but having the main shows the same for over a year isn't passenger friendly. The smaller shows in between were great & the Spectra shows are wonderful !! Some times the timing of shows isn't matched in to dinner or other venues in the smaller lounges. Over all, the ship is okay with plenty of good food & service. I have been on Anthem several times because of the itinerary & would do it again just hoping the little annoyances are fixed.

Children are not kept in the children's pool area but are allowed in the hot tubs & main pool. This makes it hard for adults to swim & relax. Kids should not be allowed in the hot tubs even though parents think it is cute! Adults go in to relax!! Main pool is so adults can swim which they can't when it is filled with children jumping in off the sides. I like kids, have had tiny grandchildren, but always kept them in kiddie areas out of respect for adults. Problem is, parents today have a lack of respect as long as their child is happy ( rules don't apply to them). Post signs NO CHILDREN IN HOT TUBS OR MAIN POOL & enforce it. You will make a lot of "adults" happy & the kids can play to their hearts content. Parents need to be parents & give up time & convenience for themselves while children are small.

Ship tip

OMG.... easy on & off! Dining is a nightmare even when you have reservations you wait!! Food is delicious. Spectra shows are not to be missed but seating is first come first seated & it fills up early!!! Lounge shows are great.

I loved stopping in pr even though it rained. we were there early in the morning and spent all day there.

We were on last month and the dining situation was not like that. You jad to wait every night to be seated. No one was able to walk right in. And as far as PR goes, it's not a waste of time but it really should be earlier to get into port. 3pm is what makes it tough.

Eh I think you both are being sensitive ^^ Royal Caribbean is a multi billion dollar company. Profiting millions and millions off passive people like you guys. They can afford to stay in the port for as long as they want. They could afford to make speciality dining free. They could give thousands of people free cruises and still not run out of cash. Maybe they should give the customers what they pay for instead of 3 hours on an island to save a few bucks.

I personally would not consider any port a waste of time, I am fortunate and thankful to be able to visit these places.

The longer you are in port, the larger the port fees.
