Review summary

Traveled with family and friends who are gluten-free or vegetarian.  Compared to other R.C. ships, this ship was the worse!  They only had 2 choices of frozen, sliced gluten-free bread - plain or with raisins.  Very few desserts as well.  As for vegetarians, so many people were complaining.  Only one choice on the menu a night - most dishes were from India - so they went hungry.  Had to pay for a Veggie burger in Johnny Rockets to have something decent or live on salads for 10 days!  We complained to so many staff members who just passed the ball to someone else.  NO one really cared except for one chef.  Will never travel again on this ship.  Food is horrible in general as well as the new "Dynamic Dining" concept.

Kids menu for kids was very limited. My son eats a variety, so we just had him share our food

Anthem had more than chicken fingers and Mac and cheese for kids. They had quite a few things on the kids menu and some good desserts also. They went out of their way to make sure the kids were happy.

RC caters to vegan and other special dietary needs. Not being rude but if you know that you have special dietary restrictions or special needs across the board it's probably best that you call the cruise line or read the guidelines it specifically States if you have special meal plans or dietary needs they will cater to them therefore it's not Royal Caribbean's fault that you did not read

I was on Anthem in April, and the table next to mine had to have their food made a certain way. Not sure if it was gluten free, or whatever. But they do take the time to put the guest first. I think it's something you request before the cruise, that way they are aware of your special needs. So maybe you can better plan the next time you cruise.

Princess still has the best food imo

Carnival dinning sucks. The one and only time I went on carnival service sucked, the dinner rolls we're hard as rocks.

I'm not sure about RCI but on Carnival they have dieticians assigned to each dining room and seperate menus for special dietary needs. I have always had a better dining experience with Carnival then on RCI. When I traveled on Anthem in Feb the food and dining services was horrible. The only choices they gave us for our son was chicken nuggets or Mac and cheese. Apparently they think kids just live on carbs.

I never received a questionnaire afterwards.

Did you do the review/questionnaire they send out after the cruise itself? Going straight to the source is the best but your review is always appreciated!

Sorry about the food...but most cruise lines do not monitor this site. You should go to their site and send this message...could help the next diners with special needs. Thanks!
