Review summary

the dining was terrible!! You waited for everything in the dining rooms, the waiters were different every night. Almost impossible to get dining reservations for the restaurants , a lot of people were stuck going to the windjammer every night for dinner.

I booked a cruise for next August in June and they were already booked with Classic dining. I said how is that possible!!?! Then, the agent explained to me that travel agencies buy blocks of rooms and choose the dining time, but when they sell the rooms, sometimes the guests don't want classic, so the spots open up. You can get on a waiting list or continue to check back to see if it's available.

It is per person.

Do classic dining but it's limited. You have to book when you book your cruise. I wish Royal would read all the disgruntled comments

When i got on anthem first time in may they booked a dining every night all different but this time i had to booked them on my own i guess cuz i booked the cruise last min but either way had no issues booking my reservations does say 32 dining reservations not sure y thou

We had no problems with dining. We were 15 family members, booked before cruise and managed to change times while onboard. It is suggested to make your dining arrangements before the cruise, you can always change them onboard.

It should be fair for all not just first come first serve!

RC admits this is an issue. Book ur reservations as soon as you can. Even if everyone tried to booked before boarding the Anthem, the Anthem just doesn't have the space to accommodate all passengers. A RC representative said they r looking into this. ...but of course it a new (beautiful ) ship they realistically cannot financially afford 2 make changes.

We had no issues with the dining. In fact, it was the best food we have ever had in a cruise. We made all dinner reservations online before hand. So your homework before your cruise and you will have no issues

Shame on royal. It is a scam to force people, who already paid slot to cruise, pay more for dining. The dining experience is always my favorite part of the cruise.

sorry about your dining experience-it's very important to reserve that prior to boarding ship -our party of 17 -had reservations for each night -since we were a large party our TA-made all the arrangements-were we rotated to a the various restaurants with the same wait staff

Having been on the Anthem...you cannot make reservations on board or change them. They are all booked prior to leaving. The free restruants cannot accommodate the large # of passengers on board forcing people to either pay more money for the for a fee restruants or eat at the not so great buffet.

This is my fear. Royal told me to just make reservation once on board. I told them that dining is a scam. And that if they can't accommodate every passenger for free in the dining rooms at normal eating hours, they need to include more restaurants for free. It really is not what people are used to or why they love cruising in the first place.
