Review summary

We enjoyed the cruise though the activities were geared to younger people.  The restaurants were just OK.  The ship was immaculate and our cabin was great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Had to make reservations if you wanted to eat before 9:00pm. Food in The Grand was good. Food in Chic was good. Food in American Icon was quite bad. Salmon really overcooked. The Windjammer was so crowded it was difficult to find a table and the food was just OK. I do not care for Asian or Indian so mostly ate salads and the bread which was great.

Onboard Activities

Geared for younger people. But The Solarium was quiet and very nice with a beautiful bathing area strictly for a adults.

Entertainment

Do not miss The Gift with it's wonderful visual effects-best on any cruise ship I have ever seen. Several of the Headliner shows were also very good.

Children's Programs

Did not have any in our party.

Service and Staff

Rochelle in Chic was super good. Ask for her as her station is much less noisy than the rest of the restaurants. Our cabin attendant, Delano on deck 7 was also outstanding.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Nice new ship. Nothing chipped or broken.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Everything was great except the beds were very, very hard. Our cabin attendant tried to put extra padding but we had sore backs anyway.

Ship tip

Look online at their app cell phone also good and schedule at least a few dinners ahead of the cruise for the first few nights. Dinners were noisy so be prepared.

Ports of call

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Newark airport was one to avoid. Security lines 2-3 hours long. If you are older get a wheelchair as you can go to the head of the line. Worth the tip!!
