Review summary

Overall it was a nice ship, staff were very friendly and ready to assist. Food quality and selection can be improved. It would also be nice if they catered to the guests in regular rooms, the same as the guests in suite.  Adult section can be improved.

The ship was quite rocky and even the employees were making comments, we wondered if the ballasters were damages when it went through the storm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
It was allot of repetition in each restaurant and although the buffet had many station they repeated the same on 3 times. Plus it is very frustrating that you pay so much for a cruise and they try to get you to go to the $$$ restaurants. Also soft drinks should be included in your cruise package, we payed extra for the service and the soft drinks machine often were broken and smelled sour.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our stateroom attendant Vergie Balanza was exceptional. All staff were kind and ready to offer service and not one asked for tips or gave us a sob story about poor wages that we have heard on other cruise lines.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Pool area should be bigger and adult area should also be outside or open the retractable roof. Also not once did O see anyone cleaning the washrooms in 12 days, they offer were not cleaned and stank.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Would of preferred bed by the balcony so when the stateroom door is opened people in hallway can't see you and you don't have the light in your face. Also wall are very thin and it was quite noisy. especially with neighbour who kept on slamming their stateroom door.

Ship tip

Definitely book restaurants before embarking as they fill up quickly and they hold allot of table for the classic dining guests, we got refused many nights and they were atleat 15 tables empty we counted.

Just got off Anthem on Thursday. The dining room service was poor. Not at all what we are used to. I feel that with all of the dining options, the wait staff does not have the time to give personalized attention anymore. We wait 2.5 hours at dinner one night. Glasses weren't refilled, menus weren't left. The clincher was when we were told to go find our own table. That was a hoot. In our waiter defense, we were a table of 5 and another party he had was quite large so we were forgotten A LOT. I was disappointed that our formal night was the last night and the first night. We were told we could do either one or both so we chose the later. I ALWAYS purchase the photo package as this is our family portraits. There were NO PHOTOGRAPHERS on the last night and they wouldn't just take our photos. So I had ZERO family portraits. May sound trivial but it's hard to get my entire family together at one time in one place. I'm heartbroken but would let it ruin my cruise.

We just got off Anthem this past Saturday and I thought the whole cruise was awesome! The food was good, no rocking except for the last day for a few hours but nothing a person couldn't handle, it was not bad at all. The crew was great, the ports were great. I can't say enough nice things . We truly enjoyed it.

That's the same week we were on a cruise, there were 40 + mph winds and large swells.

It's a rough trip out of Cape Liberty on the whole
