Poor planning by Royal

Sail Date: December 27, 2015

Reviewed: 10 months ago

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Balcony

The ship and staff were excellent, unfortunately because of poor planning by Royal, we couldn't enjoy any excursions, arriving late in Florida, Magic Kingdom closing, arriving late (2pm)in the Bahamas, couldn't take advantage of any of the excursions, like the hotel and beaches, Atlantis. The stores on the island closed at 6pm, so couldn't get off the ship to shop after dinner. The show on board was cancelled, because the director quit. The ship was very nice, but the food was below par in the restaurants.

Cabin / Stateroom
The cabin was very clean, modern and additional space. The stateroom worker for our room was very accomodating.

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey
Very quick at getting you on the ship, go on line and pre-register.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Arrived late into port, so check excursions
Nassau, Bahamas
Arrived at 2pm, excursions were available for maybe an hour, not worth it. Ship stayed in port till 12 midnight, but nothing to do in port, everything closed at 5:30-6pm. Local beach was horrible.
Cococay (Cruiseline's Private Island)
Best place we stopped.

Tip

Make sure you check your time of arrival in ports and excursions, or you maybe extremely disappointed. Make sure you make reservations prior to getting on the ship. Food in the restaurants were below average, as was the paid restaurants. Staff was very helpful. Best food was in the Windjammer.
