Review summary

This was one of the worst vacations and most expensive vacations we have ever taken. If I could rate this trip zero stars I would. I was talked into a "partial" oceanview stateroom. We could NOT see anything but a HUGE hello lifeboat or the sky!!! The ship docked so late at every port that we had NO time to do ANYTHING! The food wasn't just bad, it was DISGUSTING!!!! The food was abundant, but it was awful. We felt like prisoners on that boat. Crew members never even said hello to you when they walked past you, the we will rock you show was so bad, people were getting up & walking out. You had to make your own reservations for horrible dinners!!! I spent more time on the customer svgs. line than I did in a lounge chair. I was BEGGING for reservations!!! The ship shut down the Sea plea, the kids hang out, on Saturday night, while the kids were playing soccer, and literally kicked all kids out of the entire complex, so that they could host an ADULTS ONLY party!!! Who does that??? Awful, awful, super expensive trip!!

Onboard Activities

Minimal. I booked everything online prior to boarding, had weeks worth of trouble booking the activities, was told on land that the ship would honor all of my reservations after I spoke to guest svgs., the line for guest svgs. was 2+ hours, then guest svs. couldn't help me with my issues so we had to either beg like paupers for reservations or not do activities. Horrible

Spectra was a good show, as was shades of buble', but there wasn't any other god shows, the shows were terrible

Children's Programs

They shut down the only area that kids could run around in. They played 1 movie outside on the pool screen on the last night only in 42 degree temps, with no blankets or any way to keep warm. They never played movies or sports on the GIANT screen. It was so disappointing

Service and Staff

Abe the cruise director was the only good part of this trip. Servers were robotic, just there to get the job done!

Cabin was nice, good size, clean, but the should loose the term "PARTIAL OCEANVIEW" there is absolutely no way to see the ocean. You can ONLY see the sky or the HUGE YELLOW LIFEBOAT completely blocking any water view.

Ship tip

DO NOT GO ON THE CRUISELINE. Poor port planning, horrific food, soda machines for the soda package, were CONSTANTLY out of soda, ice cream stations closed at 5pm. Room service charges a delivery fee after 11pm???? on vacation, but it did't matter, even the room svgs. food was absolutely terrible.

FOOD WAS INEDIBLE, no place to even get a snack on this prison "ISLAND". Long bar lines to get your sodas that are "included" in your drink package. Just pathetic

Seems a bit dramatic. Times in and out of ports, while maybe short, are published well in advance. I have heard mixed reviews on food and have read reviews from people that loved the food in a restaurant one night and found it to be not so good the next time they went back. But I haven't heard anyone suggest that the food was disgusting. A bit over-the-top.

we book all the specialty restaurants on the Quantum class ships early so we can have a few drinks before the shows. I don't eat at the Windjammer unless we miss dinner which has happened after meeting people, having drinks and forgetting dinner. we are going on Anthem again in 3 weeks with family and had a little trouble fitting in 7 people but did it.

I'd book the shows early and if you decide not to go, then just don't show up, it never hurts

tammy, don't cancel because of one persons opinion. it sounds like he complaints about everything. we have been on 35 cruises and RCL 28. we will be going on Anthem again in 3 weeks. the ship is beautiful, food perfect and crew happy and always smiling so unless they are plants from another cruise line, they are missing a fun line.

I am excited people like this can ruin a whole cruise. might cancel even so I think everyone should just keep there opinions to there self might be different for someone else. I going Mar have 7 just worried more about sea sick.leavi g from jersey anyone going on this cruise

I'd like to know how many other cruises and cruiselines epstein4 has tried and if he/she liked another any better. I did not see any other reviews, A review is a reflection of personal experience and perceptions and no matter what is much appreciated. Everybody is entitled to their opinion even if it is over the top negative.

First of all, don't expect all of the crew members to expect just you are a VIP and they have to bow down to you whenever you pass one. Also, don't go to a show if you think it is bad

I was on the same cruise and rate it a 10. food super, crew super everything else super. you sound like a plant from another cruise line so go back to them if you don't like RCCL. Loyal to Royal......
