Review summary

Favorite part of the cruise was the Ketchikan excursion via float plan to the Misty Fjords.  Dinners were excellent especially the formal nights.  Pinnacle Grill was outstanding for steak and lobster.  Room service was best for breakfast.  Lido deck was just OK for lunch.  Try the burger bar for lunch and don't miss the salmon bbq on the lido deck.

Oceanview cabin is fine for Alaska as there was little opportunity to use a deck.

Ship tip

Main theater shows were great. Piano bar not so much.

Thanks for the review, we just got off the Amsterdam. I really enjoy the ship.

I'll bet that Debby Bacon was not at the Piano Bar because she is so talented on drawing everyone into her show and feeling a part of it.  We saw her every night on our two fairly recent cruises.  I still keep in contact with her through Facebook.  I don't think that HAL is continuing with the BBQs on deck for future cruises.  Time will tell, though.
