ship is way too crowded to have a good time unless you enjoy waiting in line for everything 20 minutes to an hour and a half pools completely crowded if you do not purchase Royal Caribbean's up charges for food key card diamond club etc You're just treat it like a peasant I've been on many royal couldn't cruises and the slop on the buffet with the par even after waiting 40 minutes to eat at a buffet One pizza stand for 6,000 people. Have to run to box office on first day of cruise to make appointments to see the different shows or you are locked out of the shows I guess paying your cruise fare doesn't entitle you to a show but then again when you go to the showroom early to get a good seat they kick you out of the seats and say that's for diamond club folks so you move to another location and they say no the first five rows are for key club folks so I guess they don't seem to feel I'm entitled to anything even though I paid my full fare

Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Food on the ship quite a letdown I have cruised Royal Caribbean many times before. One night One of the main courses offered in the buffet was noodles and beef It was macaroni and cheese with sliced hot dogs Yes hot dogs in it other Royal Caribbean ships have had multiple buffet stations from different nationalities and cuisines this one only offered Indian food I guess due to vegetarian issues and American food quote on quote which was hamburgers hot dogs and beef goulash pretty much every night had to skip breakfast one morning in the buffet cuz there was an hour and 10 minute line and I had to go to an excursion an hour and 10 minute line which was told to me by a Royal Caribbean staff member I could see the line circling through the hallways after an hour and a half Wait One night for my time dining restaurant manager saw a lot of customers taking photos of the line he realized he was going to be smashed on the internet so he rushed us up to an empty dining room had a busboy take our order not just mine many people's then he just brought out the food on a tray All three courses at once laid the trays next to our tables and just switched the plates as we ate you can imagine my baked Alaska was melted goo the butter on my lobster tail had turned solid I know there are COVID staffing issues well then don't fill the ship with 6,000 people food way sub par compared to other Royal Caribbean cruises and other cruise ship lines many cruise lines offer four or five different options for no cost dining Royal Caribbean offers one pizza stand for 6,000 people and a couple of counters that hand out half of a turkey wrap and maybe a Dixie cup fresh fruit cup
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Shows are great Pool was useless due to overcrowding jacuzzis in the solarium were nice and actually accessible
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Top notch entertainment. only thing that made the trip worthwhile super great shows. even though you have to run to the the box office on the first day of embarkation wait in line 45 minutes to make reservations because it was first day everyone making reservations on board app crashed could only manually make reservations. even though you are paying customer you will be locked out of the shows if you don't do this right away I guess first time cruises are at a luck if they don't know
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
Did not have children but app won't let me leave this review blank
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Crew staff is always excellent they enjoy their work it seems no complaints
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Ship very clean although not designed for 6,000 people elevators were often packed to the point where people were shoving in to get on not fun in time of COVID
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
cabin clean in good condition although for being the largest ship in Royal Caribbean had the smallest room I've ever been in on a Royal Caribbean for a balcony room
Ship tip
I cannot recommend a lure of the seas The shows were superb the service was good but the ship is not set up for $6,000 people It was always a 20 to 30 minute line for everything if you don't order the upgrades you're considered a peasant and treated as such showed up early to watch the show but they said sir you can't sit there that's for our diamond club and so I moved and went to sit down they said so you can't sit there either that's for our key club members I thought I paid for a cruise I didn't know I paid to sit in the back row Royal Caribbean is all about upgrade after normal dining hours only offering is pizza with a 20 minute line minimum or half a turkey wrap and a veggie sandwich with a slice of pie other cruise lines offer many different non-up charge dining experiences at least maybe leave out some peanuts for a peasants next time Royal Caribbean peasants that pay over $5,000 for a cruise and are told they can't sit in the chair in the main theater because we didn't pay more
Had a lot of fun better buffet food than on board the ship once again most of the island is reserved for the exclusive upcharge folks but the pool was a lot of fun nice party and the snarking was good
A must do at this port is the aviary It is excellent. you start out by climbing up a tree with a circular stairs and then you go from aviary to aviary over suspended wood bridges with excellent views of the sea and the prices very reasonable especially for what you get
I would have used the app to make my reservations but the app crashed when I asked a crew member an officer actually he said oh yes the app crashes on the first day sometimes because everybody wants to make an appointment at the same time I guess the photo of the hour and a half line to the main dining room was photoshopped right everybody says oh no problem how about when they shove people into the elevators are so packed
We have a cruise schedule for October 1, and have never cruised on Royal Caribbean before with so many people. After reading all comments I am very leery about the “crowds “ , lines of people , etc. it’s making me very nervous. And the number of people at the swimming pools . Is there anyone who can lighten my prospective on these worries. I want to have a good time , it’s my birthday celebration cruise!! 🎉. Thanks for any comments!!
One would think if you have cruised RC so much in the past, you would know to use the app for all your entertainment reservations and not have to wait in a box office line. We have also cruised three oasis class ships, two before covid at full capacity, and never had the problems this person had.
I have never encountered what you're speaking of on Allure or any other Oasis class ships. I've always felt surprised that with 6k passengers it doesn't feel crowded.
Of course they're designed for 6000 passengers. They have five in service and a sixth under construction. It never feels packed. You can make the argument that small ships aren't designed for 2000 passengers, but they are. The engineers and planners at the shipyard and at Royal ensure that size matches capacity. It's like saying a football stadium is too full even though there is a seat for everyone.
