Review summary

Allure is a great ship with a lot of room for 5400 cruisers. We had 3400 with COVID restrictions which put a huge damper on meeting people and just hanging out with new friends. I would recommend against any cruise line that has 100% adult vaccination, 100% negative antigen tests and still requires all the additional protocols. Be safe, but not stupid.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
No early walk ons, our 330pm group processed at 415pm.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Poor ability to help special dietary cruiser with a menu for the week, so every meal became a 20-45 minute order and wait ordeal. No food in WindJammer was labeled in detail so everything had to be specially made. - Note: non-special diet cruiser did just fine but the food was 'meh'.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Trivia, shows, Solarium and more. was happy with boat activities.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Good, not great. Dive show started with a story then immediately dropped it for splashes... Ice show was just an advertisement for what was on board... casino, boardwalk, etc... The comedy was family friendly and enjoyed most of it. Mamma Mia was a hit, although we did not expect the FULL 3 HOUR SHOW!

Children's Programs

no kids in party

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room, Main Dining, Bar tenders all excellent. Chef horrible, bland food, mostly indian or thai. Head waiter was a moron. Customer Service was always an argument with their opinion trying to bully you...

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
like d the ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
had a balcony with ocean view. used it every day. will try an inside balcony over Central Park next time or inside cabin and goto the nice secluded spots we found.

Ship tip

Take a mask you can clean! It will be on your face 70% of the time.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

1 out of 5
poor wifi caused most of the embarkation issues.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
great port, we took an excursion so not sure about proximity of town or beaches.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
located 10 minutes from downtown, had to take a taxi to get there...

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Meh... why charge for water slides? why charge for a wave pool? i dont get it. money grubbers.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
used the 7am self departure. glided out of the port to a taxi. caught the 9am flight home just in time versus staying until 1pm.

Is there any cruise line that doesn't have onboard Covid requirements? Bland Indian and Thai food? That would not be good.
