Allure of the Seas

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 08, 2019

Ship: Allure of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

We were initially concerned with the sheer amount of people onboard but everyone found their places and it never seemed crowded. There was so much to do that we never were bored. The theater was big enough to accommodate those who wanted to see the shows. Mama Mia was really good and the aqua theater is not to be missed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick & uncomplicated. We did most of the registration on-line so it was easy to get past the registration checkpoints. Our checkin time was noon but we got there early and were onboard by 11:15.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We stayed with the Main Dining Room for all of our dinners. Even though we chose any time dining, we had reservations at 7:30 every night. We often went at 6:30 and had no problems getting a table. The food was always amazing and the staff was always accommodating.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the solarium as it was quiet and adults only. Chairs were hard to get but it was possible. The water in the pools was freezing but refreshing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were amazing. The aqua theater is not to be missed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was very friendly and wanted to learn something about you. We had no problems getting any request honored.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was huge but very organized and extremely clean. I understand the ship is going into drydock in a few months .... things will be changing for sure.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a balcony room on deck 7, starboard and could feel some of the waves crashing into the bow. I found the motion & sounds relaxing. The only other thing I would mention is that the bathroom had a shortage of places to store things when compared to other ships.

Ship tip

Make reservations for everything possible. Even though it did not seem crowded, 6000 people can fill up a venue quickly.

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
This is a great place to decompress and just let the world go by. No pushy sales people or worrying about what shore excursions to take, just a relaxing, worryfree port of call. The waterpark seemed really pricy so we just opted for the free beach. Lagoon & pool.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We took a catamaran snorkel & beach tour and it was great. There was limited shopping at the port which was fine with us. Unless you take a taxi to the town center there are limited things to do.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We were there for a relatively short stay so we opted to just walk off and check out the old city. It was a short walk with many stores, restaurants and scenic views right there. We never felt unsafe in any way.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
They use facial recognition. Super easy ..... smile for the camera and get off the ship. Our fastest disembarkation ever!
