Great ports but do to poor food quality on the ship, we plan to choose a different cruseline for our next vacation.

Food and Dining

Main dining room food was okay, the windjammer had a poor selection, the options were geared toward international flavors. Same selection each night. Sorrentos pizza was neh, thin, dry and super crispy. The wipeout cafe had burgers and the same crapy pizza as sorrentos. The doghouse and Johnny rockets for breakfast were both delicious though! Was always hungry on the this cruise and in the past we have had good food on Royal but this time the best food was from the ports and fast food on the way to the port and home.

The shows were fantastic! Oceanaria and the standup comedy show were our favorites! Wasnt a fan of mama mia but that is just not our thing, others said it was fantastic. Icegames was also fantastic.

Great size for 2 people, plenty of space, we brought a over the door shoe organizer and did not even need it. Beds were comfortable. Our room steward Ana was fantastic!
Ship tip
Wait until after the remodel in the spring to sail on this ship, if you want good food choose a different cruise line
Amazing!! Beautiful port. We did a private excursion including mountain top, drakes seat, corral world and magens bay beach. Everything was great except corral world. Some of the exibots were closed and we felt it was not worth the entry fee of 23.50 per person. Magens bay was fantastic. The store at the mountain top was big with really nice stuff reasonably priced and the view was stunning!! Btw try the banana daquiri!
So much to do and see. This island is very beautiful, wish we had more time here. The lines for the slides do get long between 12 and 2 though. The wave pool was so much fun. We did the swim up bar at oasis lagoon, drinks were pefect, quick service. 6 hours here was not long enough!
Everything we saw was great, we did the san juan city and mall tour. Do not recommend it. We were in a bus with tinted glass windows so we could not get good pictures. The mall was ordinary. It was huge but all the same stores as back home so nothing really special about it.
I totally agree with you on the food. I was in Allure before and several other royal ships and this was by far the worst when it comes to food. The only good dinners was when we ate in Chops (twice) and Izumi. Windjammer has had stuff everyday and Main dining room was awful. It was a big disappointment for us. I think we will go back to the freedom class ships.. I think it’s harder to feed excellent food to so many people. Also My Time Dining was chaos, so disorganized and we had my time with reservations.
We were on the Allure in November and had no issues with the food. Ate in MDR every night and the food was absolutely delicious. Had 3 appetizers each most nights and sometimes 2 appetizers. Tried the main buffet first day for lunch and not a big fan of buffets anyway. Did not go back. Had breakfast in MDR also very good and the buffet there for breakfast was very good also. Park Cafe great for lunch and snacks and desserts. Johnny Rockets free for breakfast, ok, nothing great. Loved the Allure. Found our way around without getting lost starting 2nd day. Shows were all fantastic. Make reservations before you board. We did Mama Mia during the afternoon on a sea day and that worked out great. It’s a very long play but very good. The ice show was a favorite. Get there early because it’s not as large as the main theatre. The aqua show we could see from our Boardwalk balcony but we still went gown to see it. Very good.
